oh so that happens, that makeup artists do refuse to set up the dupatta.............well i dont have any problem with setting up the dupatta but its just that i dont know how to do it so thats why ia m a little uncomfortable....what if i cant do it at that time, though i can always figure out........its a matter of learning.
My sister's make-up artist was caucasian, so she obviously didn't know how to set the dupatta.
Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that it would be a GOOD idea for you to learn how to set the dulhan's dupatta... and maybe even how to wrap/tie a sari.
so what if i practice when they come for a trial?? in that case when they actualy come on the wedding day, every thing will be set, i would know how to do the dupatta and makeup i would had practiced.........what are ur suggestions on that.........

Its risky Amna! What if you cant get it right? What if it sets good and looks good and falls off after one hour! Etc etc. You dont want to do that to the poor girl. Check around with your friends, cousins, family friends, there must be someone who can lend you their dupatta and let you practice on them. Offer them free makeup sessions for this summer's weddings! If you cant practice and get the art down pat, then I really think you need to let them know that you dont offer this service so they dont expect a perfect setting
The dupatta, be it heavy or light has to frame the face well and suit the hairstyle. There are diff setting for oval faces, square faces, round faces and high-foreheads as well. Then you have to look at the hair-style, is it puffy and heavily back-combed, middle-parting, no parting. It was an entire course when I learnt it, about 12 classes =(

Just let your clients know that you cannot do dupatta . The bride will make arrangements to get it done by a friend or relative . It would'nt be fair to mess up the bride's big day . When it comes ot wedding remember no bride wants to take chances esp not with something at the nth moment .
