Hello
so her I m again and I want to buy a foundation. Previously I was using bobbi brown and now I wanna switch to other brand
so after researching a little bit I ve chosen a few please help me with reviewing if u have used or just recommend me any ,
nars all day luminous weightless liquid foundation
Estée Lauder double wear stay put foundation
Giorgio armani and luminous silk foundation
Ysl touch éclat foundation
i need need medium coverage . And a foundation which can resist high heat and humid climate and long wear
so after scouring the internet for reviews and wanting a medium coverage foundation, i found that the overwhelming majority suggests Makeup Forever HD foundation. I wore it for an event a few weeks back and it was FLAWLESS. Check it out!
Since you're in the U.S., why not go try it in store and get samples of all of it to see what works for you? That's what I always do.
YSL, Armani, Estee Lauder get great reviews. Unfortunately none of them had a color that matched me perfectly.
I have worn NARS Sheer Glow and Makeup Forever HD and was pleased with both. I like the Makeup Forever better than NARS. Last month I bought Chanel Perfection Lumiere and this is my current foundation. I love it! Its lightweight and coverage is buildable.
Remember....what works for one person may not work for another. Best to spend a few weeks getting samples of several and trying them out yourself.
I think all of those foundations are amazing in their own way. I've personally tried NARS sheer glow and Makeup Forever HD and have loved both.
I know Bobbi Brown tends to be amazing for those who have yellow undertones.
I picked up Marc Jacobs a few weeks ago to give it a try and I love it because it's not heavy and it makes my skin glow.
I currently use Estée Lauder double wear. I find it’s a bit heavy. The finish is great, but after a few hours I find my face gets shiny and I have to use oil blotting sheets.
So you get samples from the store and wear it a whole day and see how it looks on camera? I found that a foundation I think looks great in what I see in the mirror and i’m thinking i’m having a good makeup day and i’ve found my go to foundation but for some reason the same foundation on my face on the same day looks oily and shiny on camera.
I just hope the dior and the higher end brand sales people aren’t arrogant about giving samples to us common folk.
^Usually they’re happy to give samples.. Sometimes they’ll throw in a few extra bits you haven’t asked for as well.. I LOVE the mini Diorshow mascaras
I don’t think photos are that reliable in gauging how well a foundation suits you.. I think just checking in a mirror in different lighting (for ex in natural light, indoors, outdoors etc).. Also check if it oxidises much because that can be an issue..
Can I say that I fall between shades and the MAC lady last time gave me a sample of a foundation that was darker than my skin tone and on top of that it oxidized on my face. I’m hoping they hire people that are actually trained in this field.
Have you ever experienced it where you think you’re having a good makeup day and then look at the pics from the day which look totally different from what you thought you looked like in the mirror?
Doing my makeup in natural light, like in my car, always makes me feel like someone is watching me and someone usually is.
Does anyone know what stores in the US sell the Mehron brand?
I’ve always gotten samples when it comes to foundations and worn it multiple times before purchasing. How generous a brand is with samples depends on the sales person…it has nothing to do with the brand itself. At my local mall, the Nordstorm sales people are usually very nice and I’ve never has issues getting samples for NARA, YSL, Dior, Chanel, MAC etc. The sales people at both the Sephora’s near me are pretty good about samples too. It’s best to go on a slow time (during weekdays or right when the mall opens during weekends).
Bobbi brown oxidizes for me but I did pick up a sample of the Marc Jacobs one and I was impressed. tomorrow i’m trying the Dior sample i got. Does no one else think the Nars sheer glow is not used for everyday use because of how thick it is?
