new car

im thinking of buying a new car…problem is that i dont know what to buy…either a toyota or a honda…would love to get an acura..but too $$$$…any suggestions?
i like the yaris…corollas are reliable…but not too fond of the shape…civics have a nice shape, but not a big fan of them in terms of maintainence…

so help!

Re: new car

you know smilestar bought an accord last year, and i think she doesn't have any problems with it, Camry is good, and you can lease the 2006 models very cheap now.

Re: new car

Honda Civic is the best!

Re: new car

smilestar has a civic, not an accord...and that's a beauty!

Re: new car

my brother just bought a 2007 civic....its nice.....but i dont want the same car as him....what to do?

Re: new car

sorry DM :cb:

Re: new car

get a subaru imprezza.

other options are mazda 3, and nissan sentra.

Re: new car

Honda Fit.

Re: new car

Re: new car

^^

I tried to persuade her to go VW but I got shot down :bummer:

Re: new car

well japanese cars have good resale value, easy maintenance, good on gas . well made,

Re: new car

danial..u sound like my dad...lol...which is why he insists that i get a jap car.....

Re: new car

:bummer: us old folk sound the same

Re: new car

  1. kept her preferences in mind, she did not mention any non japanese cars so only mentioend japanese cars as options rather than european or american cars.

  2. kept her budget in mind, if she is looking at a civic, few european cars readily available in that price range in north america.

civic starts at $14k in US

as far as the euro models readily available in that range it would be

Mini
Jetta
Beetle

thats it.

I mean I would go on aout the virtues of renault but I dont think they sell a whole lot of them in North America, and that poses service related issues.

given a choice in this list, I would go for the mini, what a car.

Re: new car

thanks fraudz for ur input

Re: new car

it’s a civic :smilestar:
no more coffee for you :stuck_out_tongue:

afshi - seriously, give the civic another shot. maintenance wise, it’s really really good. i’ve had the car almost a year now, and so far no problems at all. i’ve only had to do one oil change, but otherwise it’s a beauty.

the best suggestion i have, pick about three four cars that you’re really interested in, and take them out for a test trive. you’ll get a feeling of what it’s like and whether or not you feel comfortable driving it.

Re: new car

thank smilestar!!!! the reason why i have this issue with civics is that ive had older civics before <2000 and they always have issues with maintainence and transmission..blah blah...the corollas we've had were really reliable..

Re: new car

Corolla? Please no!

Test drive a Jetta and see how it makes you feel.

Definitely try out an Altima. I'd prefer that over the Corolla anyday.

Re: new car

i’d say if you’ve got the $$ go for a passat
i just saw the most gorgeous passat yesterday
they keep coming out with better and better cars

Re: new car

altima is in a completely diff class than corolla. Have you seen the new ones, they kick some serious butt…but..price wise they are higher also.
