new car

Re: new car

afshi

just check this website out, and do test drive this car.

Re: new car

If you are looking for small sedan, I recommend Mazda 3. Nice shape and great reviews.

Re: new car

Fraud...the mini is too small.
Can you imagine that in high winds on a bridge?

Re: new car

Muzna,

The Mini has a smaller cross-section profile than many other cars, so it's likely to be less affected by wind.

Nonetheless, it is not a car I would recommend because while it's fun to drive, it's just too small. You can only carry 3 other people in it legally and with little of their stuff. It is also too expensive. The base mini costs as much as a nicely equipped Rabbit, Civic, or Sentra.

I'm a big fan of hatchbacks, but that may just be my sophisticated European tastes :p . At this price point I would really go for a Nissan Versa, Volkswagen Rabbit, or Toyota Matrix.

But Afshi's already said that hatchbacks are out so :(

Re: new car

compared to honda civic, mini is only about 130 punds lighter. civic is 2690 lbs, mini is 2557. add to it what maddie said and it may be more stable in high wonds than other heavier cars

actually i checked altima and that would be in the ame neighbourhood pricewise for a base model. I was thinking of a 3.5S in terms of price but a 2.5 is very competitively priced

altima is a fantastic car.

Re: new car

did someone say altima?

i didn’t mention it cuz of the same reason as fraudz…diff class…i’d compare that with the camry and accord, not the civic or corolla…and yes, altima beats 'em all hands down! :k:

been driving one for 2 yrs now, and no problems whatsoever…just regular maintenance…

the new ones look and perform even better…

Re: new car

Re: Altima, I haven't driven a 2.5, but have briefly tested out the 3.5 model. My experience is consistent with what almost every auto review website will tell you about Altima. That car is very fast. Way too fast, in fact. I think in the '07 model they tried to refine the power so the car has better road manners when picking up from zero. As sexist as it may sound, I wouldn't recommend Altima to a lady, especially one who is looking for a 'safe' and 'peaceful' car.

Re: new car

but is she looking for a safe or peaceful car.
its a wellbuilt car with good safety featurs
it can be as peaceful and safe as afshi makes it, dontcha fink

Re: new car

maddy..i like the hatchbacks...its my dad that says: "beti...u need a bigger car..."....dont knwo why..its not like i have a huge family to pack into the backseat...

whats the difference between a matrix and a yaris?

Re: new car

The Matrix is a Corolla-sized hatchback. The Yaris is one size smaller.

Re: new car

do u need an all wheel drive in GTA? imrezza is an AWD in case that is a plus for u

Re: new car

fraudz..if only i knew what All Wheel Drive was....lol....im clueless about cars...

Re: new car

You don’t need AWD in the Toronto area. Front-wheel drive does fine, and does even better if you have winter tires on.

Re: new car

afshi, i think you should get a new red range rover sport. what a sexy car :) for my sexy friend. ok sorry didn't mean to embarass you in your thread. i know its prolly like wayyyy over your budget, but i just wanted to hijak your thread and say that is a nice car. did you ever think of mazda? they're quite cute.

Re: new car

lol ruiner....u make me laugh!
i welcome ur hijacking....hehe

Re: new car

dude, now come on.

AWD is defintely better in snow than FWD
Today in the chicago blizzard as my g35x drove surefooted in snow, and accurately changed lanes and took turns, I saw FWD cars like volvos and camrys struggle, and forget about RWD cars even with traction control they just are not the same.

yeah FWD with snow tires will do pretty good.

but an FWD w/o snow tires can not give you the same traction as an AWD w/o snow tires

and FWD with snow tires can not give you the same traction as an AWD with snow tires

question is, can an FWD with snow tires give you more traction than an AWD with all seasons. I would say based on personal experience.. No. I had a FWD with traction control since 2000. There is no comparison.

Re: new car

Oh I'm not denying that AWD is better. It's just not that much better to be worth the additional money over a set of snow tires instead.

On Anarkali (who is FWD) through 3 winters so far, I've never had traction problems. She alwears wears winter tires and her traction control system takes care of the rest.

Re: new car

I Love Civic 2006-07 not a single problem bought it last year
but i agree with Fraudia bhai in Toronto AWD is a better option Daihatsu is not available in Canada otherwise Terios looks really neat a compact SUV

Re: new car

i would say test drive them all...and spend time in the car, try to test drive them all the same day so u can compare them well.

in the end, u may buy a car that just feels right. def test drive the mazda 3, the altim and the impreza
