Re: Never judge a book…

Not exactly. Ismat Chughtai’s Ek Qatra Khoon had a dark back ground and the title written in Red. But its the name of the writer and theme of the novel that attracted me to buy the book.

Recently I started reading Abdal Bela’s novels. Though he was not familiar to me, but the names of his novels ‘Mayo Mahiwal’, "Sain Bago Shah’, ’ Delhi ki Arjumand Bano’ were interesting to me. I picked the books and randomly read paragraphs from the books. That was enough for me to buy those books because the topic was my favourite ‘Pre-partition India and interaction between people from different religions’. So I bought all the books and enjoy reading all.

Mustansar Hussain TaraR is one of my favorite writers and I buy his novels without investigating much.

Re: Never judge a book....

I prefer books with better quality paper - graphics on the cover don't bother me though. :D

Re: Never judge a book....

bura cover bure kitab ki nishan dahe kerta hay ..lakin acha cover ache kitaab ki nishan dahe nahi kerta falsafa

Re: Never judge a book....

Re: Never judge a book....

Kinzz, tum kia cover dekh kar books Khareedtii ho? :D

Re: Never judge a book....

jee nahi ..yeh mere apne factory ka bana hoa falsfa hay bilkul brand new jhanda

Re: Never judge a book....

nah..not cover..but by wht others have to say abt it..and the lil summary(not really summary..kuch aur kehte hain but i dotn rem wht) of it written at the back of the book

Re: Never judge a book....

Yes there are few with decent cover, ( not saying the one with model pics aren't decent)

But as you said aik qatra khoon has a dark background, so I guess cover has to do something with topic, right?

Re: Never judge a book....

Lol @ falsafa

Yeh Apka apna falsafa hai?

Re: Never judge a book....

Not always, per agar cover thora 'ajeeb' ho to phir nahi.

Re: Never judge a book....

bilkul mera apna hai or kaafi had tak darust hay ..u know wat writer ki tabeyat bohat lateef hote hay agar us ka mazmoon per ik bay dhanga cover ya bura msg daynay wala cover banaya jaye to woh apne tehreer jala lay ga lakin us ko qubool nahi keray ga

Re: Never judge a book....

Mai Apki bat se itfaq karti hoo,
Per Maine kuch novel parhe hain jinka cover bilkul samjh nahi ata per interesting novel hotay hain, aur kuch ache cover wale novel bhi ajeeb o ghareeb hotay hain.

Re: Never judge a book....

bohot hi dilchasp falsafa hai aur bhi share Karen :D

Re: Never judge a book....

But again you can't say much about the novel just seeing the cover, until you open the book a read a paragraph from it

Just a Paragraph isn't enough either.

Re: Never judge a book....

For Ek Qatra Khoon, I can say 'Yes'
