Going back to doing it on a business basis (this in general and not directed at you), you have to be prepared for this kind of thing all the time. It doesn’t matter what the business is, the majority of people who ask you for quotes or to find stuff for them, won’t end up ordering.
I’m guilty of this myself. In my line of work, I’m always emailing specialist companies for quotes on equipment and a lot of the time we don’t end up ordering and don’t even inform them that ‘thanks but no thanks’. We just assume that they know that this is how sales work.
You do end up putting in your time, effort and money in tasks that won’t necessarily make money. But you are not doing it for the short term but for the long term goal that you will build up a customer base that trusts you and feel they can rely on you. I agree that it’s not wise to purchase anything without some kind of deposit from the customer. If it’s something with limited availability, inform them of the risks etc.
I recall you said something in other threads about buyers here most likely being ripped off. Of course they will be paying more than the basic cost of the fabric, work and stitching because the person doing all this work for them needs to both be compensated for their time and effort and also needs to take a profit. If there’s no profit, then what is the point of doing it as a business in the first place?
This was just an issue of buying some fabric, just imagine the effort that needs to go in for a whole order. Bearing this in mind, as far as I know, all the sellers costs are reasonable and justified and their clients are happy to pay them for their efforts and not least a smooth and business like transaction.
Nahi yar, i dont mind putting in such effort for anyone even if the order doesnt go thru because i also enjoy the whole process. BUT the thing is it hurts when the other person is forget being thankful but is pointing guns at us. That’s very sad!
And i do understand this whole business is very time consuming n so much of hardwork so whoever does it, deserves good profit. I was just saying in that other topic that one shud not rip off the other person who is helpless cant get clothes frm here theirself n they end up paying 20 times more.
Thanks for yr post
