Really enjoyed Deepti’s character. It’s good to see her in this role which is a departure from her sad, brooding roles that she usually ends up with.

Mahira surprised me. I wasn’t expecting her to be able to act at all but not bad for a first timer :k:

I wish Fawad would have gotten the visa for this drama. I am bored of seeing Humayun.

i liked it, but don't know got the feeling that the characters of mahira and deepti could have been reversed...mahira might have been bit better suited as the out of work, slightly ditzy struggling actress, deepti seems too mature for the role. maybe not...lets see, just an initial impression

Had a feeling of deja vu with the first episode. Too many similarities with Malaal perhaps: Background of wintry New York, coffee with friends in cafes, Deepti living alone in an apartment and looking for a new place...
Also, I'm not too sure about Humayun Saeed. The role of an illegal immigrant, who obviously has an unsettled career and has a university going girlfriend needed to be played by a youngish actor. A forty something Humayun Saeed dressed up as if he works on wall street and not in a desi's office did not help either...
I also wonder if the ordinary pakistani viewer is sophisticated enough to understand the casually mentioned girlfriend/boyfriend relationship. After watching the first 10 minutes or so one is still left guessing what the relationship is between Mahira and Humayun. Are they married or are they co habitating. I think the line is cetainly blurred. I wonder if this was intentional on Mehreen's part. Maybe she could answer it..

Having said all the above, I did actually enjoy Mahira's acting, she is good for a beginner. And Deepti's light hearted acting was good to watch too. oh yeah I also like Mehreen's cameos a la Hitchcock!:)

Didn't care for this week's episode. Some things also feel like a bit of a stretch- humayun saeed paying 3k to deepti gupta and being able to afford a huge apartment despite being jobless. kher let's see how it goes
