my friend and i once decided to haul a table ourself in the back of a pick-up truck…we did it everything right until we reversed the truck into the neighbouring store’s glass window…$900 kii chapat lag gaii $100 bachaane ke chakkar meN…so:

this happened quite a few years back…

…i took my little niece to the local farmer’s market and she liked a beanie baby…i asked the guy how much i had to cough up…he asked for $15…i, being an Indian and a sworn haggler, i asked if he could reduce the price…he was nice and said he would check his buying price in his notebook…i waited patiently like a gentleman…he surprised me when he said…“oh, i’m sorry…i gave you the wrong price, it’s actually $35!” … OMG! … he was a teenager so i thought it wasn’t nice to ask him to honour his words, i.e. the original price that he quoted…i politely started to walk away saying “i’m sorry, i’ll pass!”…

…my niece really wanted to have that beanie baby so she started sobbing! being a loving uncle that i was/am i couldn’t see big drops of tears in her eyes…i decided to buy it for her…paid $20 extra as a result of being a NOT-so-good-haggler!
