Dear Frends… need your input on wat I am going to say
You are all part of GS and… the guppies who post their own Poems and Ghazal here are actualy POETS all have differnet approach towards it, but all has one thing in common and that is LOVE FOR POETRY.
How would you all like the Idea of posting one TOPIC here … at the start of Each month and.. then all of Us post Our NAZAMS on the same Topic here… ?
End of the Month we can Declare the BEST POEM on that Particular Topic.
First I think just one MOD " (Meaning YOU) " should not decide which poem is the best on a certain topic.
so if not the MOD then who? good question, aint it?
So I think you can select few guppies as judgues of the poetry who can PM you their vote for the best poem at the end of each month and then you can decide which poem is the best.
But then there is another problem, that is, that the guppies who know about poetry mostly write their own poetry in here and if they have their own poem in the competition and they have to judge the best out of them, so even if they think their own poem is the best out of all they might not vote for it out of modesty.
So, then the judges can be the non-poet guppies. But still I think the poet ones can understand poetry a bit better than the non-poet ones(talking in general).
So then I think that it should be like if lets say 10 guppies have posted their poems on certain topic, those guppies should be judges for that month. in this way the more poems participated the more judges there are and a vote should be through PM to you and also non of the guppies should be allowed to vote for their own poem.
this will do one more thing, that is, that there wont be any fixed number of judges and the judges will keep changing every month.
I dont see any harm with your idea… its good… its Applicable as well… but as U know… I dont jump to Conclusions and Decision so soon.. tou… we will wait till the end of the MONTH and then will announce the Policy for the BEST POEM etc…
Till that time I hope we will get more Ideas from more Guppies… Theek

Dost it is a Good Idea to have one topic to post different opnion. and I like to participate in it. but my suggestion is that do not pick the best out of them all at the end of the month. this will Discourage one from writing their thoughts. lets leve it as a one topic Ghazals and apprecaite all we are all best poests no one is better then the other we all take life and experience differently and post with different ideas we don't want one to explain what do they mean when they worte what they wrote....

Daddu Gi… I support your concern about the new comers in this field, but dont you think ke Jab tak NEWLY LEARNT SWIMMER ko aap Gehray pani maiN naheeN Dalengay HE/SHE can never be a good Swimmer…
I am sure we have all educated guppies here and… I am sure they will take the compitition as a POSITIVE TOOL…

As long as the Idea for INTIKHAB is concern… for the Best Poem of Ghazal tou.. I dont think… we have the Capacity to Compare… something from GHALIB… IQBAL… FAIZ… etc etc and selcet the Best out of them …
