Some people do recognize the divorce decree in US as a form of talaaq in the Islamic way as well. You guys really need to find a reputable Sheikh and consult with him on this matter. He should be in the UK and familiar with the laws.

I cannot say if its a good idea to go to Pakistan to fight these rumors they will undoubtedly spread.

In my eyes, I feel they’re not worth the trip. I would not waste a second of my day with such people. But that’s me and for some people this may be too harsh.

From your parents’ perspective, they might want people to see their heart is in the right place and they tried. Going to Pak might dispell rumors being spread against their daughter. I get it and for the sake of the marriage…maybe they should go. Things are always better communicated in person versus over the phone. At the very least, your parents will find out if they made the right choices or not.

i wasn’t that harsh :)…My parents decided that those people ain’t worth it. They will be contacted by the lawyer and that’s it. Talaak will be applied from UK. And if they don’t sign, the judge in pk will annule the wedding

why would anyone want to spend money and get a guy who doesnt even have a job or career yet?

The guy has a job in PK. He is an emplyee at a bank (cashier) he has done his MBA …but at this point, the whole education level doesn’t say anything.
