Need help to save my engagement :(

Re: Need help to save my engagement :(

isnt it better to do istikhara for urself?

Thank you, I really hope it does as well.

yea true it is...But my mum would only want my best interests as well so does it matter if she did the Istikhara?

Re: Need help to save my engagement :(

We have had a bit of a twist really.

Due to some unfortunate circumstance, one of our close family friends son's rishta has broken off. Basically, the girl decided to run off with some guy she met at uni. My mum has always been interested in this guy wayyyy before my rishta from Canada came.

The guy is really well settled, excellent job, own house, everything is going for him. Now my mum wants to speak to his mum about doing our rishta but I keep telling her not to because it looks so desperate and cheap! What if they say no??!

So this is the new twist. And I am thrown deeper into confusion and chaos.

Re: Need help to save my engagement :(

welll stardust do u love this guy??? ur current guy??? cos if u do..nothing else should matter..u shud have faith in him...if u dnt have faith in him...maybe u shud consider this rishta

Why would it look desperate and cheap? A lot of mothers who are friends talk about rishtaas this way, its completely normal in liberal families.

And I've heard that after doing Instikhaara, things happen in such a way that shows you exactly what is good for you. Maybe this is what is good for you.

Let your mom decide, like you said earlier, you should still keep a back seat. If you are really interested in marrying your current fiance then take a stand and be his pillar of support (dont be double-minded), but if you're also unsure, then let your parents decide. Whatever will happen will be for the best. Good luck :)
