Okay I am not sure; if I am suppose to post this here or somewhere else. Move it accordingly plz mods.
I need an idea for a gift! I have to buy a gift for my boss. He is old late 50’s, what could be best? A lot of u might be thinking, if I am going nuts or something. All I can say about him, he is an extraordinary boss for me, he always brings me treats and we chat and joke around a lot. He treats me like a daughter, and on my b-day he brought a cake, that he made it himself. Now, that was very sweet. So now its time for me look for a gift for his coming up birthday.
also bake cake for him..:)
i was abt to say if u dont like him.. u should give him a big box of sigars so he'll be gone soon..but after readin the whole thing..u should buy somethin which suits his charakter.. or somethin has 2 do wid his hobby's..:)
should I buy him scrapbook, and get all the office ppl to sign it? Or get him card holder with his name on it? would that be okay. He loves chocolate, but I guess I shouldn't buy that for him, it will look really odd.
I don't wanna bake a cake for him, its too much carrying it from home to office.
^ thas a nice idea..a scrapbook.. u should make some pictures of ur staff.. some funny pictures.. n through the pics.. some birthdya wishes of all the collegues..looks very good.. (speakin from experience..:) )
uhhh. do NOT get him a scrapbook or anything gay like that. Cigars are actually a very good present, if you're anywhere but the United States, you can get him a couple of Cuban cigars, note, these are expensive cigars, about $12-14 a piece, but will be truly appreciated.
wow nice ideas guys, thanx. AAHMED he doesn't smoke and I don't think he would like that, he would end up giving it away. And I want him to have something that will remind him of me :)
I agree with CorruptAngel......I hightly recommend "Things Remembered" for any business related gifts. And their prices are very reasonable too. The thing I really like about their stuff is that you can personalize it with the person's name and business title(they charge extra for that though...but I think the $ is worth it).
Go check out their web site....here are iteams I recommend. I don't know what your budget is for the gift so I'm including a variety of price ranges.
1) Silvertone Card Holder (Can be personalized with name & title) - $20.
2) Jeweled Globe Desk Set (Can be personalized) - $85.
3) Golf Bag Pen Set - $35. (If you boss likes golf)
4) Book Clock (Can be personalized with name/title/or even a quote or short message) - $30.
5) Movado Rotating Desk Clock (Has clock, thermometer, show humidity level, and place for one pic....can be personalized with name) - $150.
There are just the few things I liked.....you can go through their site and look at everything and see if anything catches your eye.
pay a visit to 'general store' and look something thats usually found on the 2nd isle on the left side by the entrance.. engraved on glass-decoration pieces, from co-workers to bosses to sisters/mothers/dads/sons/daughters/etc...
hmmmmm Currupt Angel, Lost, faizy love your ideas, really nice.
yourfriend and shweetdreamz plz control it.
Pakistani Abroad He hates golfing. He likes reading books and going out meeting ppl. Since its part of his job.
funguy no thank you, all the pakistani restuarants are thakay huay here, food is not worth eating. Thats why I only eat at chinese place.
Shahreen yeah thats the idea, I am thinking I will get my office ppl to sign the card and will give him the gift from my side.
I guess I have to go out today; although, I think I have seen a gift store or something in ma building, I will give it a try. Argh, when I need my friend she is on vacation :(
