Who is 3 time defending NBA Champion ?? Lakers or Mavericks ??
How many Championship Dallas has won ?

Who is better at this moment, forget the past.
If you are going to look at thepast than Boston Celtics should win the championship this year since they have been to the finals most and Micheal Jordan should be the MVP.

Anyways I will talk about Present and Dallas has played LA 3 times this season, they have lost twice and won once. Accept it dude, Dallas has a very poor record against Good Teams like Lakers, Spurs & Kings. LAst year also at the end of the regular season Dallas was second best team in West winning 57 games , we all saw how they choked in the play offs.
PS :- Lakers are the 3 time defending Champions unlike the Celtics who won the NBA in Stone age.

Do you also know that Lakers have played Charlotte Hornets 2 times this season so far and Hornets have beaten the Lakers twice. Does it mean Charllote Hornets are better teams.
Great Match. With trailin’ 7 points, LAKERS came back into the game, and then BANG, BANG, BANG! It was nice to see each team player contributed its part; and won the game as a team, not a One-Man Show. Cheerin’ for LAKERS always makes me better whether they win or lose. But seein’ so much thriller games, I felt LAKERS played with the same passion tonight as they did in the previous years. With the sport-spirit they showed tonight, I reckon, LAKERS will give a hard time to their opponents; won’t let anyone to walk over easily, homies!
After a lousy start of the season 02-03, LAKERS earned their ninth consecutive playoff berth on with a thrilling 115-113 overtime victory over the SUNS, grabbed 6th spot in the Western Conference. **Kobe Bryant scored a team-high 26 points, including the winning jumper in the extra session. ** Shaquille O’Neal collected 22 points with 13 rebounds. Derek Fisher, Robert Horry, Kareem Rush added 20, 8, 6 points, respectively. LAKERS have won seven of their last eight games.
From SUNS, Stephon Marbury scored a game-high 40 points and Shawn Marion recorded a doule-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. SUNS maintains the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference despite the loss, visits Denver on Tuesday.
Next LAKERS game on Tuesday with MARVERICKS @ Staples Center. Bring on…
Maaaaauuuun! This is what I been telling theseguys that Kobe is a game winner. The guys simply excels under pressure in clsoe games like these. I cant remember how many times over tha past 3 years he has made these kinda shots.
Umair, with all due respect, regular season means jack when playoff time comes. Dallas may have the best record but ask anyone who knows the game that they dont have the best team and they will never beat Lakers or the Kings in a 7 game playoff series. You just hope they dont play Lakers in the first round. Also remember this year first round is 7 games and not 5 games. Beating Lakers in 4 out of 7 games is gonna take more than the best record in the NBA :D
and PT, in case you are still wondering if Lakes will make it to the playoffs or not: Lakes have now clinched a playoff berth with a win over the Phoenix Suns. Now you can relax and rest assured that this is bad news for teams all across NBA who had, im sure, hopes that Lakers not make it to the playoffs ;)

Abaay, did you forget to read my comments before posting message? :p I know LAKERS are in the playoff, Damn! :D And somehow I won't forget yesterday's match. Man, the crowd went wild when Kobe made that winning shot, yeh!!!!
Personally, I believe LAKERS v SPURS will be a great match. I reckon these two teams will compete against each other in the Final of NBA playoffs and it's my believe that these two teams deserve more than others.
So true - I would also like to see these two teams in the Conf. Finals. Man The Sacramanto Queens team is such a whinner. Yesterday I was watching Queens Vs. 76ers game, Despite all their Super Stars in the team Queens led only by 5 at the halftime. At the Half time Chris Webber gave an excused that he was really tired because of the DAY LIGHT Time Change. .
Hahaha! I’ve never liked Webbie 'cause of his attitude. Mike Bibby, I reckon, is the only guy, who’s mentally strong among KINGS. Though, SIXERS lost the game on Sunday but A.I did put a great fight against KINGS despite of his knee injury. In fact, his FG’s were higher than the rest of team; and if the whole team had put effort, they would have won the game against KINGS. Anyway, I didn’t watch the game of SIXERS tonight against PISTONS but good to know they won with a huge margin. A.I was the man with 37 points. SIXERS are at 3rd spot in the Eastern Conference.
LAKERS beat MARVERICKS!!!
Damn!
LAKERS did it again. This time whole team effort!

**Rick Fox was 4-for-8 from beyond the arc. **
Wonderful game by the LAKERS. One interesting fact in the tonight’s game was LAKERS bench players played at their best. KEWL! Almost everyone was in the double figures, which I wanted to see; and guess what it happened tonight just when Playoffs are around the corner. Btw, LAKERS will play SPURS in the first round of the playoffs.

Kobe and Nash
LAKERS, in the 4th quarter opened on a 9-2 run and extended their lead; and route to a 108-99 victory over MARVERICKS, who were trailed by just one point before the start of the fourth quarter. Devean George scored 11 of his team-high 21 points in the fourth-quarter outburst. Robert Horry chipped in with 17 points; Rick Fox and Derek Fisher added 16 points apiece. Kobe and Shaq scored 14 points, respectively.
From MARVERICKS, LaFrentz and Dirk Nowitzki dropped in 26 points each and Steve Nash added 19. The Mavs will try to turn it around Wednesday in Phoenix SUNS.
Next Los Angeles LAKERS game against Sacromento KINGS on Thursday @ STAPLES Center. Bring on…
So much for the team with the best record in the NBA
Lakers have beaten the Mavs 25 times in a row at the Staples Center. This record spans some 13 years. This season they have won 3 out of 4 games vs. Dallas, one in Dallas as well
Wrong!
PT yaar where do you get ur news from? Maybe you want to see Lakers and Spurs play, but thats not going to happen if the playoffs were to start today.
If playoffs start TODAY, Lakers will play Dallas in the first round and San Antonio will play Phoenix Suns.
The playoff picture is wide open at the moment. There are still 4/5 games left to be played by each team. There is no clear cut leader in the Western Conference right now. This just shows you how competitive this conference is.
Both San Antonio and Dallas are tied for #1 spot with 57 wins while Sacramento Queens are 1 game behind. Lakers in 6th postion.
I watched NBA 2 Night program on ESPN last night after coming from LAKERS-MARVERICKS game; and according to ESPN NBA reporters, LAKERS will play SPURS in the 1st round of the playoffs starting from April 19 based on current standings.
And yes, I want LAKERS v SPURS match in the playoffs. Kobe against Parker, Shaq one-on-one against Duccan. That would be so sweet!
Whoever the team might be playing with LAKERS in the 1st round, Semis or Final of Western Conference playoffs, beware of them!
After tonight’s vicotry, LAKERS will not play MARVERICKS in the 1st round of the playoffs. LAKERS are setting their eyes for the 4th spot as Shaq, mah Man, said so.

Kobe and Peja
Up just one at the half, LAKERS outscored the Kings 63-51 the rest of the way to take a 117-104 win over the KINGS at STAPLES Center. Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal combined for 66 points, O’Neal added 16 rebounds and Derek Fisher posted 17 points for L.A. LAKERS are now just a half game behind the BLAZERS for the No. 4 spot in the Western Conference.
[thumb=B]bibby_lakers_0304101.JPG[/thumb]
Mike Bibby was 7-of-12 from the field.
From KINGS, Mike Bibby and Chris Webber each tallied 24 points, Peja Stojakovic added 20 and Bobby Jackson came off the bench to score 13 points for the team.
Next Los Angeles LAKERS game against BLAZERS @ Portland. Bring on…
One handed slam dunk by Kobe:
[thumb=B]dunk.JPG[/thumb]
Lakers once again show the Queens who is the King of the hill baby :D
LA is the new capital of California.
Lakers now have an oppurtunity to take over the 4th position in Western conference if they win the remaining 4 games. That would mean home court advantage for the Lakers in the first round.
The only big team the Lakers have performed poorly this season is The Spurs.

Thanks Ehsan bhai :>
I had asked Ehsan to put the NBA and NCAA threads as sticky cos of the ongoing tournament and games. (Mens NCAA trournament and NBA playoffs are approaching fast). Plus GS really needs to know that there other sports in the world besides Cricket :)
Today’s game, only Shaq fought from the start to the end. Kobe contributed in the 2nd half. No bench help.
All credit goes to the BLAZERS, who outplayed LAKERS, particularly Rasheed Wallace, Bonzi Wells and Derek Anderson, added 50+ points.
[thumb=B]shaq_030413.JPG[/thumb]
Shaquille O’Neal’s 36 points.
Kobe Bryant nailed a bucket with 34.4 left to put Los Angeles ahead, but Portland answered back with a three-pointer, handing the Lakers a 101-99 loss Sunday. Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal had 36 points apiece, but no other L.A. player scored in double figures. LAKERS will host Denver on Tuesday in their final-home game of the regular season.
Yaar 5Abi, is there any chance left for the LAKERS to grab 4th spot in the Western Conference? After NUGGETS, LAKERS will play their last game against Golden State WARRIORS in Oakland on Wednesday.
Lakers are going to win the title again, unfortunatly!
Why the hell is NBA still so incompetitive?
NHL was like that last season but this season its full of competition for every team.

PT here is the hypothetical scenario for the Lakers to grab the 4th spot and homecourt in first round after todays loss:
Lakers win their remaining games Tuesday against Denver and Wednesday at Golden State.
Portland Trail Blazers lose versus Phoenix on Tuesday, and at the Clippers on Wednesday.
Minnesota Timberwolves lose at Memphis on Wednesday.
But chances of all of this happening are sorta slim. So in all probability Lakers will have to go it on the road, starting this weekend, perhaps as the sixth-seeded team against the Dallas Mavericks.
