NBA

Bad news for Mark Cuban and guys if Nowitzki is out for the remainder of the games. Down 2-1 with Nowitzki out, Mavs are in dire straits.

PT, no yaar Im not too much thrilled by WNBA. Frankly, not many ppl watch the ladies play basketball over the summer, cos summer is meant for baseball :D Even then I wont mind if La Sparks won another champtionship, Lisa Leslie is aiite :D

Losing Dirk is a huge blow for Dallas, though their powerful offense will still keep scoring points but their defense is even more bad, all the games they have won is when the opposition also scores 100+.
Anything above 90 pts allowed by the defense is bad.

NETS vs PISTONS

[thumb=B]njfan.JPG[/thumb]

Delighted NETS fan!

New Jersey entered the fourth quarter with a nine-point lead, and turned it up a notch en route to a 102-82 Game 4 victory Saturday, sweeping the PISTONS and clinching the Eastern Conference Championship for the second straight year. Congratulations NETS. Well done Bryon Scott. :k:

Jason Kidd led the Nets with 26 points, 12 boards and seven assists and Kenyon Martin added 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Slam dunk Keyon Martin!

Last time NETS were swept in the Eastern Conference FINALS back in 1993 when Chicago BULLS were two times defending Champions. Tonight’s NETS win has hit their winning-streak to 10 Games.

Misery Misery Misery for PISTONS. At least, they got lucky in the NBA draft lottery. Hopefully, Detriot will pick Carmelo Anthony as their PG for next season.

Happy faces of Kenyon Martin and head coach Byron Scott.

Jason Kidd :k:. I have a lot of admiration for him. I have seen him play in college at Berkeley. He is one of NBA’s true point guards.

New Jersey, all the way, baby. :dhimpak: Who’s next, spurs or Mavs

New Jersey in with a chance to win it all if they play the Mavericks but if they play Spurs then they won't have a chance.

MAVERICKS vs SPURS

[thumb=B]parker.JPG[/thumb]

San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker (9) looks to work the ball inside against Dallas Mavericks' guard.

With their 102-95 victory over the MAVERICKS Sunday night, the SPURS moved to within one win of advancing to the NBA Finals. Manu Ginobili's 21 points and Stephen Jackson's 17, all in the second half, helped lead San Antonio 3 games to 1. Manu and Jackson were awesome!

[thumb=B]manu.JPG[/thumb]

Reverse Dunk of the Night by Manu Ginobili

Tony Parker with 25 pts, led the SPURS offensive ball game in the 2nd half just like he did in Game 3 as SPURS cut the MAVS lead to 1 with 10-2 run. SPURS got the lead and then never fell, were perfect from the foul line. Parker along with Duncan(20 pts, 20 rebs, 7 assits) played the defensive ball game; made struggled each MAVS player to take tough shots.

[thumb=B]timmy.JPG[/thumb]

San Antonio Spurs' Tim Duncan (21) and Tony Parker, right, block the shot of Dallas Mavericks guard Steve Nash.

MAVS actually led by 5 pts at the end of 1st half but in the 2nd half, I noticed, they just ran out of their offensive power. Reason? SPURS had superb defence for each MAVS player. From the paint to perimeter, no easy buckets. No outside and wide open shots as MAVS had in the 1st half.

WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS:**

Its all curtains for Mavs. They wont be able to win Game 5 in San Antonio. They have lost all steam and morale since Nowitzki was injured. Its very likely that Don Nelson will put Dirk in the starting line up but I dont think that will matter any more. Dirk wont be 100% on Tuesday and it wont be easy to beat the Spurs in San Anotnio, but stranger things have happened in NBA.
Nets are having an amazing run, 10 straight playoff games, and their last loss was in OT sometime in April. Only time will tell if Spurs can end their cinderella dream.

Friend, its not a cinderella dream, New Jersey have made it to the finals for 2 straight years, its not the first time. :rolleyes:

^ word.

All those calling the Nets’ run last year a fluke, Kenyon Martin’s post-basket antics are exactly mah reactions for you silly billys. Thas right, y’all can slam-dunk it where the sun don’t shine. :devil:

You ESPN Sportcenter clowns misunderstood again. Nets are prolly the best team in the East, this year as well as last year. Their "whatever" run was stopped short last year by, you guessed it, Lakers - best in the West. This year same fate awaits them, unless they can beat the odds vs. Spurs - best in the West (this year).

Nets are a lot better than last year. If they play San Antonio, their strengths are the up and down game, and in the half court set they have shown that they can also play based on the Pistons series. Combined with Kidd's generalship and their defense. They were ranked right behind the Pistons as the best defensive team in the NBA, they have more than enough tools to play with, if not beter the best of the west.

Oh...Mutombo is on the bench as well. So less double teaming of duncan will mean that guys like Malik Rose would have to step up for San Antonio. Because Parker is done against Kidd and Robinson is too old to handle Martin. Stepehn Jackson vs. Kittle is a wash. Plus Jefferson can bring Rose out of his comfort zone in the paint, if Jefferson hits the mid range jumper.

ANd please for the love of god...keep your analysis to a minimum if you are going to speew rhetoric chandas. Last year was last year and Best is relative.

Mavs win!!!!!!!!!!! :D

MAVERICKS vs SPURS

[thumb=B]nash_170_030527.JPG[/thumb]

Nash’s MAVS smashed SPURS in Game 6!

One of the greatest, dramatic Games of the NBA playoffs in my book! Oops, SPURS blew the lead AGAIN! It’s not the first time they did in this year’s playoffs. PATHETIC!

[thumb=B]captnash.JPG[/thumb]

Dallas Mavericks guard Steve Nash works the ball around San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker.

Playing with inspiration and urgency, the MAVERICKS rallied from 19 points down to defeat the SPURS 103-91 in Game 5 on Tuesday, sending the Western Conference Finals back to Dallas. The MAVS ** outscored** the SPURS 29-10 in the fourth qtr and can now tie the series in Game 6.

Dallas Mavericks guard Nick Van Exel works the ball around San Antonio Spurs guard Emanuel Ginobili.

Yes, this happened without Dirk Nowitzki as Eduarado Najera set the tone, Nick Van Exel and Michael Finley stepped up when the MAVS needed it most. Dallas were amazing tonight. I reckon, this Game Don Nelson will remember as long as he lives. Hats off to the MAVS!

[thumb=B]captmike3.JPG[/thumb]

Dallas Mavericks guard Michael Finley protects the ball from San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker.

Michael Finely was terrific as he led the Dallas game-high 31 pts, 12/12 FTs, 7 rebs and 3 assits. In Game 3, 4, Parker took the charge in 3rd qtr but tonight it was Michael all over Parker. That was the turning point of the Game right there when Michael scored 15 pts of MAVS(total 18 pts) in the 3rd qtr.

[thumb=B]captspurslost.JPG[/thumb]

San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan, in the middle, sits with teammates guard Steve Kerr, left, and guard Emanuel Ginobili, right as the Game 6 slips out of reach. :wave:

In the 4th qtr, SPURS players except of Duncan, were afraid to shoot the ball. You can missed the shot but can’t be coward out there in the court, in front of home crowd! Learn it brother, learn this lesson SPURS. This series ain’t over yet!

Game 6 @ Dallas on Thursday.

Next game in Dallas, Mavs have a perfect chance to tie the series.

^ Too bad that's all that game will be remembered as- a chance. :D

How about Steve Kerr? Poppovich pulled quite a rabbit outta the hat there. Desperate move after Parker and Speedy Claxton's rubbish minutes that turned out well.

Good luck Spurs; it's gonna be a good matchup.

MAVERICKS vs SPURS

Ho.....what a game! Got SPURS?

[thumb=B]captnjrb.JPG[/thumb]

San Antonio Spurs center Daivid Robinson (50) and Dallas Maverics Eduardo Najera (14) battle for a rebound.

Do you guys remember Steve Kerr from 1999 SPURS squad and BULLS 1996-98? Reserve guard Steve Kerr, who played for Parker's spot(had bad stomach) hit three-pointers in the 4th qtr as the SPURS defeated the MAVERICKS 90-78 on Thursday, advancing to NBA Finals 2003. Man, Steve's performance was off the hook. Cause of Steve's 3-Pt FGs 4/4, San Antonio outscored Dallas 34-9 in the fourth qtr coming back from the deficit of 15 pts. He picked the command where Stephen Jackson left off! Obviously, hadn't the Jackson out there shooting the ball, SPURS wouldn't have won the Game.

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovichin, right, has a few words with forward Tim Duncan (21)

Dallas had good defence on Duncan and he was scoreless in the entire 3rd qtr but other SPURS players were making buckets, which kept'em rolling........... Overall, SPURS clinched the series in style against MAVERICKS as they did against LAKERS and SUNS.

  • **7-Game Schedule:

  • Game 1:** Wednesday, June 4, 8 p.m. ET, ABC @ San Antonio

  • Game 2: Friday, June 6, 8 p.m. ET, ABC, @ San Antonio

  • Game 3: Sunday, June 8, 8 p.m. ET, ABC @ New Jersey

  • Game 7: Wednesday, June 18, 8 p.m. ET, ABC (if necessary) @ San Antonio.

  • Season series: NETS 1 - SPURS 1.

This is it, homies. The Finals are coming on June 4th @ ABC. It's gonna be a great series, I reckon. NETS have learned alot from the mistakes they made previous year and this year playoffs series against BUCKS. Last game when NETS lost in OT in month April against BUCKS, the main reason was lack of ball moment; missing FTs. Since then, NETS have recovered from those mistakes as they have been perfect from the foul line, great ball moment with a winning-streak of 10-Game. Defence transition of NETS beats it!

SPURS with a unique bunch of guys, haven't been able to learned from the mistakes, which they are making upto now. They are still horrible from the foul line, couldn't keep up the big lead, and have gave away 5/6 games which they could have actually won.

NETS won't have no answer for the assault of Tim Duncan but Keyon Martin could make trouble for him as he has been extremely brilliant this year than he was last year. This contest b/w Duncan & Martin will be worth to watch like who beats who in picking up rebs, assits, blocks and steals.

However, the key point from both teams will be how Kidd and Parker control the game.

This is taken from the NBA site. Doesn't get better than this. :)

  • Key matchup Guard: Jason Kidd vs Tony Parker

[thumb=B]kidd_parker_030519.JPG[/thumb]

Give the ball to the two fastest point guards in the NBA and watch them push the pace. During the regular season, the team with the advantage in fastbreak points won each game, and both margins were decisive. In the NETS' win, it was 21-2; in the SPURS', 32-19. It will be up to Parker and Kidd to control tempo, run the offense and create easy opportunities for their teammates, all while performing the most difficult task of all: slowing down one another.
