Just like scores, you can also check the standings on NBA.com

Yes, you can. Where did I say you can't? My argument was about playoffs Standings, not scores to keep this thread alive as less peeps seems to be participating. I guess, there are only few guppies, who likes to play and watch Basketball.

Hope that helps. :)

GO lakers!!! :dhimpak:

LAKERS vs TIMBERWOLVES

[thumb=B]bryant_170_030501.JPG[/thumb]

*Kobe Bryant scored 14 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter. In the background, Hollywood Star Jack Nicholson with black sun-glasses. *

Bring on the SPURS!

Kobe Bryant went off for 14 points in the fourth quarter as the LAKERS advanced to the semi-finals with a 101-85 win over the WOLVES. Kobe finished with 31 points, O'Neal with 24 points, 9 assits and 13 rebounds. From WOLVES, Kevin Garnett and Troy Hudson each tallied 18 points for Minnesota. Well played WOLVES. I really enjoyed watching Troy Hudson, specially his attempts of 3-point shooting.

[thumb=B]captss.JPG[/thumb]

Troy Hudson drives to the basket as he is guarded by Shaquille O'Neal.

LAKERS will play their 1st Semi-Final game with SPURS @ San Antonio on Monday. This is gonna be an interesting series.

SPURS vs SUNS

[thumb=B]captS.JPG[/thumb]

Stephon Marbury, front, and Jake Voskuhl watch the final seconds of the game as San Antonio Spurs eliminated SUNS.

Phoenix gave the top-seeded SPURS all they could handle before bowing out of the playoffs with an 87-85 loss. Disappointment for SUNS as they could have won the game but in the fourth qtr, they played awful, missed 3+ consecutive baskets from the field. From SPURS, Stephen Jackson and Manu Ginobili took over in the fourth quarter, helped SPURS to advance to the Semi-Finals.

[thumb=B]duncan_140_030429.JPG[/thumb]

Tim Duncan posted a triple-double: 15 points

Jackson scored 11 of his 21 points in the final period and Ginobili hit two three-pointers in a 30-second span for the SPURS. Tony Parker had a good game with assts and rebounds. SPURS will meet LAKERS in the Semi-Finals on Monday.

NETS vs BUCKS

[thumb=B]captm.JPG[/thumb]

New Jersey Nets' Kenyon Martin, right, is congratulated by Lucious Harris following their NBA first-round playoff game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The NETS earned a trip to the Eastern Conference semifinals on Thursday with an impressive 113-101 Game 6 victory over the BUCKS. Jason Kidd recorded a triple-double with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. New Jersey, playing in the semis for the second straight year, will host Boston CELTICS on Monday. It could be a repeat of Eastern Conference. Watch out!

CELTICS vs PACERS

[thumb=B]walker1_170_030501.JPG[/thumb]

Antoine Walker celebrates Victory!

CELTICS got off to a huge lead early, hitting 14 shots in a row at one point, and coasted to the next round with a 110-90 win over the PACERS. Paul Pierce led the balanced attack with 27 points. The CELTICS, who upset the No. 3 seed, will face the the NETS in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

  • EASTERN CONFERENCE - 1st Round:

  • Orlando MAGIC leads by 3-2 against Detriot PISTIONS.

  • Philadelphia SIXERS leads by 3-2 against New Orleans HORNETS.

  • Boston CELTICS vs Indiana PACERS - CELTICS won by 4-2.

  • New Jersey NETS vs Milwaukee BUCKS - NETS won by 4-2.

  • WESTERN CONFERENCE - 1st Round:

  • San Antonio SPURS vs Phoenix SUNS - SPURS won by 4-2.

  • Los Angeles LAKERS vs Minnesota TIMBERWOLVES - LAKERS won by 4-2.

  • Sacramento KINGS vss Utah JAZZ - KINGS won by 4-1.

  • Dallas MARVERICKS leads by 3-2 against Portland BLAZERS.

Not many thought Lakers would make it to the playoffs or even get this far. Now Spurs will take another shot at the champions starting this Monday in the Western Conference semifinals. Lakers were swept 4 -0 during regular season by the Spurs and also will have the homecourt advantage. T'Wolves tested Lakers and Suns tested the Spurs. Both teams adjusted and learned from the 1st round games.

Lets see now what Spurs have to stop Kobe. Not to forget Shaq who hates Robinsons guts :D

This is what Spurs forward Malik Rose said after yesterdays series win over the Suns: "Nobody wants the Lakers, but we'll take them. Wishing for them is like wishing for Muhammad Ali in a boxing match. But to be the best you've got to beat the best"

I like Spurs - They are a great team, Unlike the Queens they dont whine, then they give the credit where it is due, If they lose they accept that they were not good enough.

Plus they have the best Allround player in NBA - Tim Duncan. I am a Lakers fan but this series I will be neutral and whover wins I will be rooting for them to beat the Whining QUEENS. If both the teams lose, I will root for Dallas to beat the QUEENS. If they Lakers,Mavs,Spurs all lose I will be rooting for east coast teams to beat the whining QUEENS.

Go Lakers/Spurs/Mavs and kick the QUEEN's A$$.

NJ Nets Rock. :dhimpak: Watch out Boston!

There is no stopping Lakers.

PISTONS vs MAGIC

PISTIONS back in the series despite falling behind 3-1 in their first-round series. PISTIONS forced a decisive Game 7 in Detroit by defeating the MAGIC 103-88 in Orlando on Friday night. Chauncey Billups led the Pistons with 40 points -- including seven treys -- while Ben Wallace scored 20 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and blocked five shots. Tracy McGrady may be wondering for another offseason what it's like to make Round 2.

Detroit Pistons' Chauncey Billups, center, tries to drive between Orlando Magic's Gordon Giricek, left, of Croatia and Tracy McGrady, right.

Tracy McGrady poured in 37 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the MAGIC, while rookie Drew Gooden added 11 points and 12 boards.

SIXERS vs HORNETS

[thumb=B]iverson_200_030502.JPG[/thumb]

Iverson chipped in 45 points.

SIXERS eliminated the HORNETS on Friday with a dramatic 107-103 Game 6 first-round victory to advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Allen Iverson scored the last six points and led all scorers with 45 points.

[thumb=B]captes.JPG[/thumb]

Philadelphia 76ers' Tyrone Hill (40) and Eric Snow (20) celebrates victory.

Keith Van Horn collected 18 points and 18 rebounds, including a crucial late offensive board. Philadelphia, which overcame a 13-point first-half deficit, will play the winner of the Detroit-Orlando series in one of the Semi-Finals of the Eastern Conference.

From HORNETS, Jamal Mashburn hit three treys and led the team with 36 points. Baron Davis tallied 21 points and handed out 11 assists.

BLAZERS vs MARVICKS.

[thumb=B]bwells_030502.JPG[/thumb]

Bonzi Wells look for a basket.

Blow out! Faced with elimination, the BLAZERS shot a scorching 59.8 percent from the field on Friday night to blast the MAVERICKS 125-103 in Game 6 and forced a deciding Game 7 in Dallas on Sunday. We have seen team coming back into the series when they were down by 1 and 2 games. But we have never witnessed a team back into the series with 0-3 deficit. BLAZERS proved their Guts tonight! Zach Randolph led the way for Portland with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Ruben Patterson added 20. The BLAZERS will try to become the first NBA team to ever rebound from an 0-3 playoff deficit to win a series when they face the MAVERICKS on Sunday @ Dallas. Doesn't get better than this, homies!

[thumb=B]captrsa.JPG[/thumb]

*Portland Trail Blazers forward Rasheed Wallace, left, goes to the basket against Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki, right. *

  • EASTERN CONFERENCE - 1st Round:

  • Orlando MAGIC vs Detriot PISTIONS - Series tied 3 games apiece.

  • Philadelphia SIXERS vs New Orleans HORNETS - SIXERS won by 4-2.

  • Boston CELTICS vs Indiana PACERS - CELTICS won by 4-2.

  • New Jersey NETS vs Milwaukee BUCKS - NETS won by 4-2.

  • WESTERN CONFERENCE - 1st Round:

  • San Antonio SPURS vs Phoenix SUNS - SPURS won by 4-2.

  • Los Angeles LAKERS vs Minnesota TIMBERWOLVES - LAKERS won by 4-2.

  • Sacramento KINGS vss Utah JAZZ - KINGS won by 4-1.

  • Dallas MARVERICKS vs Portland BLAZERS - Series tied 3 games apiece.

somone help the maverciks. they are really screwed up now.

Game 7!!

Orlando vs. Detroit
SERIES: TIED 3-3
NEXT: Sun., ESPN, 12:30 PM E

Dallas vs. Portland
SERIES: TIED 3-3
NEXT: Sun., ABC, 3:30 PM ET

Great come back for Portland, coming from a 0 -3 deficit. Seventh game in the series can go either way, homecourt doesnt matter anymore. Its anybody's game. Dallas needs to play like the team that once had the best record in the NBA this season if they are to have a chance at this. Personally, I would like to see both Dallas and Orlando win, to make things interesting.

It’ll be great of the Mav’s lose…i hate that team :nook:

PISTONS vs MAGIC

[thumb=B]capt.1052070670magic_pistons_dtp102.JPG[/thumb]

Detroit PISTIONS forward Ben Wallace (3) reaches in on Orlando MAGIC forward Drew Gooden (9)

5Abi,

Huh, you expected MAGIC to beat PISTONS?...Puhleezzz. MAGIC Coach Doc Rivers should eat his own blah blah blah blah words when he said in the news conference of Game 6.

After clawing back from a 3-1 series deficit, Detroit erupted in Game 7 and downed Orlando 108-93 on Sunday, eliminating the MAGIC from the playoffs.

[thumb=B]capt.1052078766magic_pistons_dtp109.JPG[/thumb]

Detroit PISTONS guard Chauncey Billups goes up for the basket against the defense of Orlando MAGIC guard Chris Whitney

Chauncey Billups led all scorers with 37 points and rookie Tayshaun Prince provided a major spark off the bench, dropping in 20 points.

[thumb=B]capt.1052074818magic_pistons_dtp105.JPG[/thumb]

Orlando MAGIC guard Tracy McGrady walks off the court.

From MAGIC, Tracy McGrady had 21 points and Drew Gooden added 20 points and a game-high 17 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to stop the PISTONS, Ha!

Detroit PISTONS, with home court advantage, will now face Philadelphia 76ERS in the conference semi-final. First game on Tuesday.

MAVERICKS vs BLAZERS

Great game by BLAZERS, though, they lost the game with 95-107 but morally they won it. At least, people in Portland have now something to cheer about as BLAZERS won three playoffs games in 2003. Last time, they won three games out of 7-Game series in 2000 in the Western Conference Final playoffs against Los Angeles LAKERS.

[thumb=B]capt.1052085264trail_blazers_mavericks_dna104.JPG[/thumb]

Dallas Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki works the ball around Portland Trail Blazers' Rasheed Wallace (30).

Still, I reckon it wasn't an easy win for MARVERICKS. Portland and Dallas fought tooth-and-nail into the final moments of the game, but Dirk Nowitzki's bucket with 2:52 gave the MAVS the lead for good as the BlAZERS fell, eliminating them from the playoffs. Rasheed Wallace and Damon Stoudamire had 17 points apiece and Zach Randolph added 14 points and 10 boards.

[thumb=B]capt.1052083086trail_blazers_mavericks_dna101.JPG[/thumb]

Portland Trail Blazers Arvydas Sabonis (11) of Lithuania knocks Dallas Mavericks Eduardo Najera shot away.

Dallas were suppose to be the first team to enter into the 2nd round i.e. Semi-Finals of the Western Conference. Reality Check, they are the last team. Nowitzki looked lost in the 1st half, came back into the game in the 2nd half, thanks to Steve Nash. MARVERICKS will face KINGS, woohoo. Interesting.

  • **NBA Playoffs - 1st Round Result:

  • EASTERN CONFERENCE:**

  • Detriot PISTIONS vs Detriot PISTIONS - PISTONS won by 4-3.

  • Philadelphia SIXERS vs New Orleans HORNETS - SIXERS won by 4-2.

  • Boston CELTICS vs Indiana PACERS - CELTICS won by 4-2.

  • New Jersey NETS vs Milwaukee BUCKS - NETS won by 4-2.

  • WESTERN CONFERENCE :

  • San Antonio SPURS vs Phoenix SUNS - SPURS won by 4-2.

  • Los Angeles LAKERS vs Minnesota TIMBERWOLVES - LAKERS won by 4-2.

  • Sacramento KINGS vss Utah JAZZ - KINGS won by 4-1.

  • Dallas MARVERICKS vs Portland BLAZERS - MAVERICKS won by 4-3.

MVP Award Winner: Tim Duncan of SA SPURS.

[thumb=B]capt.1052083634mvp_duncan_txeg102.JPG[/thumb]

San Antonio SPURS forward Tim Duncan holds the Trophy after he was named the NBA's Most Valuable Player(MVP) for the second straight season.

What do ya all think about the MVP choice? In my point of view, Kevin Garnett could have been a good choice as Minnesota WOLVES able to grabbed home court advantage after a decade or so. Shaquille O'Neal choice was out of the question as he didn't play in almost half of the season. I thought Kobe Bryant's 9 straight game-high of 40 pts, 11 straight game-high of 30 pts was a good contendar. This should be something to ponder about. Hello NBA officials!!!!!!

But anyway, congrats to Tim Duncan & SPURS fans, who won an MVP award back-to-back season. Just like KAJ of LAKERS did in the 70s. SMILE Tim was good from the FGs, Dunks and of course aggresiveness. Whoever wins from LAKERS-SPURS clash, is likely to win NBA Championship, I believe.

NBA Playoffs - SEMI-FINALS:

Alright homies, sit tight as we have entered in the 2nd round of the Playoffs. I must say, the way this year's playoffs started off, no one expected it. But still lots of exciting games yet to come. WINK

EASTERN CONFERENCE:

  • Detriot PISTONS vs Philadelphia SIXERS.

  • Boston CELTICS vs New Jersey NETS.

WESTERN CONFERENCE:

  • Los Angeles LAKERS vs San Antonio SPURS.

  • Dallas MAVERICKS vs Sacramento KINGS.

I disagree, just because some player played scored 40 straight points in 9 straight games, it doesn't mean they should get the award. In order to get the MVP, you have to be consistent throughout the whole season not just couple games. Tim Duncan is probably the most underrated basketball player ever. He is the reason why Spurs are what they are rightnow. Though I have questioned his abilities in the playoffs, unlike Kobe and Shaq, he doesn't do so well in the playoffs, only in 1999 he played well in the playoffs and they went on to win the championshiop.
Though so far against Phoenix he has done well and lets hope he keeps the damn Los Angles Losers out of the playoffs.

Anyway, after Duncan, McGrady was the 2nd best player in the NBA this season.

You have a right to agree/disagree. I was just expressing my views 'cause I watched how Kobe play in those straight 11 games. LAKERS ranked 12th in Dec. 2002 and when Kobe made his 10K on March 5, 2003, LAKERS were pretty much in the top 8 teams from the Western Conference. All credit goes to Kobe.

That's what something close to Timmy boy said in the NBA shoot around inteview 'cause LAKERS are experienced in the playoffs than SPURS. Home court advantage doesn't matter but experience does even more when you face a team who's 3 times defending Champion.

Whether LAKERS play at home or on the road, they ain't gonna give away the game. I know them and I've seen them play. SPURS gonna have to work hard. This is gonna be interesting series for sure.

Don't burn yourself, Man. I know it's hard to bear **Houston ROCKETS* couldn't make it to the playoffs.*

This shows how much you know about Basketball. :p Correction, according to the NBA officials, Kevin Garnett, with % of FGs and FTs came in second while Tracy MacGrady rank at 4th spot.

Talk about 'Consistent' throughout the season. :)

Good thing Dallas won cos if they had lost Game 7 to Portland, they would have been part of the history. They would have become the first team evern in NBA to lost a series after being up 3-0 :D

Now, I expect the Queens to slaughter them in semifinals :D

Lakers are underdogs playing the Spurs.

On the East, I would like Nets and Sixers to advance and play in the conference finals.

With regards to MVP, Tim deserved it I guess. My vote was for KG though. The outcome may have been different had the T'wolves advanced to next round beating the Lakers.

T Mac and second best NBA player ?? Who are you guys kidding ? He is a great offensive player but his defence sucks. If Scoring 40 points in every game is the criteria then Allen Iverson is the guy who is the best player in the NBA not T Mac. Tim Duncan is the Best player in NBA right now, followed by Kevin Garnett then Allen Iverson.

Go Dallas - and beat the Queens.

TIm Duncan's selection sucked. KG or T-Mac deserved it.

GOing to the Nets game tonight, if last years series was any indication, this one is going to be out of this world.

Just because I live in Texas doesn’t really mean I support a team from Texas, San Antonio Spurs are a great team and the closest to where I live but I don’t support them, Dallas is further away from my house than San Antonio but they are my favorite team.
Does that mean you were supporting the Clippers through the season?

Actually did I ever mentioned real numbers. Tracy Mcgrady not only was amazing throughout the season but he had to carry a below avg team like Orlando to the playoffs with the whole team burden on his back. Kobe on the other hand have the likes of Shaq, Fox, Fisher, Shaw on his team to support him.
And being 4th in the league is very good.

And btw, did you also know who was #1 in the league in PPG, Tracy McGrady 32.1 Link
