NBA offseason was not an ideal one. They have been struggling to clean their image from the imfamous fight in Detroit, but the refree gambling problem and Isiah Thomas made it impossible for any of that to happen.
There are positives coming this season, first is the big trade in Boston. East use to be dominated by Piston and Heat, but lately have become more competitive. Last year Le Beron James went to his first NBA finals and Chicago Bulls made another leap in the playoffs.
West has Spurs, Mavs and Suns as their elites. These three will again be going for the Championship, but Denver and Golden State have improved a lot and sure to make them run for their moeny. Lakers have their own problems, it will be interesting to see whether Kobe moves or not.
Phil Jackson is thinking of taking a break or something (whatever it is) while Kobe's future with lakers isn't that clear either. Lakers are in trouble.
Great start for NBA. Lakers vs Rockets came too close. Rockets lead most of the time, but late rally from Bryant gave Lakers the chance to win. Derek Fisher's 2-point was followed by Shane Battier 3-pointer and Rockets escaped an upset.
Bryant missed 9 free throws. Looks like he is distracted. The Bulls deal has fallen, Kobe is still in Los Angeles.
Spurs are off to great start and so are Mavs who held LeBron James to only 10 points. 0 in first quater. Arenas fourth quater buzzer beater to tie the game was remarkable, but in the end they lost to Pacers.
NBA is up and rolling. I think this season we will get to see many close games, I don't think any team in any division can afford to play loose and give away games.
i think rockets have a good shot dis yr but man the spurs r playin great lyke usual... from the east i'll pick the celtics to go all the way unless they have sum major injury prob..
Rockets are 4-1, but their division is very tough. Dallas and San Antonio will again be competing for the best record in the NBA. New Orleans also have a great team.
Boston and LA Clippers are off to a perfect start while Miami, Chicago and Golden State are not performing well. Celtics trio are having no problem dominating.
If Rockets dont make it to western conference finals with all the talent they have, it will be a big big disappointment. They have chapta ming, tracy mcgrady. dikallu mutumbo, shane battier, mike james. thats a deep deep bench too
I may be overstepping, but this season we may not have a one dominant team to beat. Previous seasons it was Lakers, Spurs and Detroit, but this time teams in both East and West are playing for the finals.
Man, I hope the Lakers can clinch a playoff spot. It's a tough comp right now though I doubt the Clippers will keep this up for long. And, PLEASE, PLEASE, don't trade Kobe. We can build around him with some common sense and good strategy. If he goes, so does a playoff berth for the next few years.
Kobe has the best contract in the Sports. In short, he has to approve the trade, so it is unlikely he will leave Los Angles and go where it is unlikley he will win championship. For time being, he and Lakers are stuck with each other.
