Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
Lakers aren’t my team. Sonics are. I was simply stating an opinion.
Sonics or Suns will face Miami in the finals.
Detroit improved with the addition of McDyess, but the overall depth is not the same. Is Rasheed Wallace a muslim?
Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
No, he's not a muslim.
Yea, Miami's done pretty well. :( InshaAllah, when they face off with Detroit, they'll lose :)
Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
say what? just cause he has a beard and is named Rasheed don’t make him no Muslim.![]()
Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
lol i'm guessing he was just asking because he had a muslim name. but no, he's not a muslim.
Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
is rasheed playing now? i think they were saving him for the playoffs
Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
How about that double overtime between Jersey and Miami? :-) I don't believe the number of crunch shots Jersey missed. Miami is looking pretty good but not invincible. Teams are quite balanced this yr.
Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
Yea. The fights on between Miami and Detroit from the East side to get to the finals.
What do you all think will get to the finals from the East. Pistons or Heat?
Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
No Kabir you are looking at the glass as half full. Why did it take Miami to get a win over Jersey in 2 OT? They should have buried them when they step on the floor. They won it barely yesterday. If you are wanna see who’s in the mood of championship, it’s Detriot.
As for Jerey, they should be toast next game Sunday if Miami is not sluggish. That has got to be a devastating loss. A tough battle and they had a number of good opportunities.

Miller Time - It Never Gets Old
After everything that happened to the Pacers it was a nice sight when I saw the results. I am pleased to see that Indy is giving them a hard time and I hope that they pass Boston in this round. Considering their diminished roster for most of the season and still missing one of their top players that would be a great succes for the organization IMHO. And Miller going out with style is another thing that pleases me. And if they do win and get Detroit, that would be one hell of a series to watch.
Something has gotten in the Celtics’ heads. They were missing easy shots all night, that they usually make. Especially Gary Payton and Ricky Davis, haven’t done a thing in this series. The officiating in this game was definitely biased in favor of the Pacers, but the Celtics played so bad that they would have lost anyway.
I don’t see much chance of the Celtics winning the series at this point. I underestimated Rick Carlisle’s coaching advantage over Doc Rivers.
Jermaine O’Neal needs to be more mature out there on the court. I can see why he’d be upset when the Celtics are sending no-talent goons like Kendrick Perkins out there to go after his injured shoulder. But if he has a tantrum every time that happens, they’re just going to keep doing it because it worked at taking him out of the game mentally in the second half. He needs to channel his frustration into playing better basketball instead of acting like a punk every time something doesn’t go his way.
I wonder if the Rockets can learn and implement the triple post (triangle) offense on the Mavs for the rest of the series… that would really fuddle the Mavs defense… Dirk was getting into the faces of his teammates. That’s the first time I’ve seen that from him. Dayum, if Rockets lose next game, I don’t see them wining the series as I predicted. ![]()
Yeah, Ahmad Rashad is a pure clean shave and a Muslim. ![]()
Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
Did i just see a comparison between seattle and detroit? I dont see any similarities. And NJ isn't just going to give up and let miami spank them out of the playoffs. Eventhough miami isn't my favourite to win the championship, their 2ot victory over NJ isn't anything to be alarmed about. They have 2 all-stars and 1 all star calibre players and all they lack is size. Heading into the playoffs, they had all kinds of momentum and any victory over Miami in this series wouldn't shock me. I honeslty believe that NJ is better than half the eastern teams in the playoffs. It just took them long to get it all together because of injuries and other such issues.
And in my opinion, detroit should have little trouble getting rid of Miami. Compare this year Miami to last year LA. Miami certainly isn't better. If detroit buried Shaq, kobe, payton and malone last year than they are certainly able to bury Shaq, Wade, Jones and Haslem. And if anything detroit is a better team than last year. They have more experince, better chemistry, antonio mcdyess and Tay keeps on getting better and better.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
Talha - It took the heat 2 OT's to beat the Nets cause NJ is a good team. Keep in mind that Kidd missed a bunch of games early and Vince joined late. Next year with a healthy Jefferson (and if Kidd and Carter stay)...it will be a very entertaining team. Also, the playoffs usually see a strong showing by the home team in game 3.
I'm Kool - Comparisons between Detroit and Seattle have been going on throughout the season. They are based mainly on the "complete team" style of play used by both teams. If Detroit does repeat this year, you will likely see many other teams attempting to copy their style.
Hyderabadi - Was that a serious question about Rasheed?

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
Predictions for Tonights games:
Philadelphia 84
Detroit 78
(sorry Phatima1....I predict the Pistons will win this series 4-1) Look for Rasheed to get tossed with 2 T's in the 3rd quarter.
Phoenix 116
Memphis 114
Overtime game. Memphis will play tough...but not good enough to win.
Seattle 100
Sacramento 86
Kings have already given up and the players just don't care.
Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
I don’t know man…Detroit is completely a defensive oriented team whereas seattle is on the other side of the specturm.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
Seattle has a stellar defense as well…but a few more offensive weapons than Detroit. They obviously have a long way to go to measure up to the Champs…but a seven game series would be a good guide (Seattle would win in 5).
The comparision of the teams is pointing at their selfless teamwork philosophy. In this regards, both teams have a similar mindset.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
oH gazal.. missed u.. i dont even watch most the matches.. missin lakers so bad!
but hey.. i dont think miami has strengh to kill piston.. and plus bulls.. they came out and kick ass.. now i wanna see houston take this one.. and spurrs.. I lov duncan and parker… and Lakers will be back…
Re: NBA Playoffs 2005
hehe same here yaar .. hug .. you know i feel there is nothing left in lakers except kobe and i really wana see him in another team next year .. he is ruining his career with LA i think .. he has to get in another team like carter n win another championship .. plus don’t really like the new LA coach .. i miss phil jackson the most .. snifs .. yeah this year i didn’t watch a lot too .. just the news n now i watch the playoffs .. :=s .. the increase in the wins of Heat since they got shaq is pretty impressing .. did you see the match on thrusday? .. carter took the game into 2nd overtime (i must say he played really good) but shaq was there .. if piston meets with pacers in second round then dunno which one of them is gona face miami soon .. but i still think that Miami can beat any team .. cuz shaq is playing really good plus i feel that he wants to show LAL that it was a big mistake by letting him go n keeping kobe .. :=s .. so he is not gona lose that easily .. i wana see mcgrade with at least 35+ points in next game .. then there are some chances to beat Heat .. n spurs .. thats my fav team after LAL .. love .. the whole team deserves to win .. every single player in that team works hard and they play like a team which is the most important ..
n yes Lakers will be back inshAllah ..
