Nba 2005/2006

Re: Nba 2005/2006

Please 5ABi, have you not watched the Pistons the last few years? This is what they do! Back them into the corner and they will come out blasting. Game 6, a must win in Miami, would the Piston have it any other way?

Re: Nba 2005/2006

^^ yes, this is what they have done for the past seasons. but this season it looked to boil over. the pistons were speaking against their coach, they weren't happy with him. something they didn't do against larry brown, even when he was in talks with the cavs during the playoffs.

Even though the pistons have lived, i don't think all is at peace in their locker room. And I believe that to win a championship u can't be going public against the coach. I don't think the pistons will win game 6. It will be a miracle and prayers come true if they go on to win a championship from here.

Re: Nba 2005/2006

Shaq is so pitiful not having balls to admit that was a B L O C K !!! What a loser.

Re: Nba 2005/2006

^ hah... i read the article this morning... Ben doesn't give a ****
Its gonna be a battle 2nite... can't wait .

On the western front, wat a comeback by Dirk... dropped 50 after 13 point game 5. So Dallas in 6 and Pistons in 7 ???

Re: Nba 2005/2006

sad end to a season that promised a championship!

3:09 left...18 point deficit

Re: Nba 2005/2006

Pistons lost? YESSS!!!! Take that Rasheedi!!! Talk some more trash. Only hope Mavs end up in the Finals too, I hate Pistons and Suns, especially white thrash Nash...who only wins MVP cuz hes white.

Re: Nba 2005/2006

  • Pistons ran out of gas.
  • Pistons were tired after a 7 game series against Cavs.
  • Miami had a week off after their series against the Nets.
  • Pistons were crumbling as a team, and blaming their coach.
  • Pistons depended on the jump shot too much. *]There were injuries to McDyess, Rip, 'Sheed. Yeah yeah! I'm just making excuses!

Re: Nba 2005/2006

Just like i predicted.

Say what naw?

The difference between this year and last year » Dwayne Wade. If you recall, he was injured last year and didnt play the Miami-Detroit series.

For all you Shaq Diesel haters: 28 pts, 16 Rebounds, 5 Blocks. And he issued a statement afterwards "The job is not done". See ya in Finals.

Re: Nba 2005/2006

You can’t be Shaq and Kobe’s fan at the same time when they are on different team :mad2:

Re: Nba 2005/2006

Hard to beat anyone shooting 33% from the field.

Flip Saunders gets 0% of the blame for this pathetic showing. He got his team executing the offense and getting wide open looks, but they still shot 33%. It's funny that their defense gets blamed for them losing, because their defense is actually the only reason this series went to 6 games.

I'm glad the Heat made the finals, because the Pistons definitely don't deserve it shooting like that. They didn't even deserve the conference finals with their performance.

Re: Nba 2005/2006

Talha, Shaq played for Lakers for 14 long years. And he has been the finals MVP for the 3 times the LakeShow won the championship. Im not a Miami Heat fan but no matter what you say I will remain a Shaq fan. He has been the most dominant player under the hoop.

Also remember , Kobe and Shaq shook hands this season and made peace :D

so tis all good in the neighborhood.

Re: Nba 2005/2006

who yo daddy? :hehe:

Re: Nba 2005/2006

He’s been in the league for 14 years, but played only 8 seasons with Lakers.

No one is denying the dominance of Shaq. My problem from day one has been that whenever he has god awful game, he’ll blame on refs OR won’t give respect to his rival. He’s been a champ but not a great one. Now, he gets to play against Eric Dampier in the finals who he always thrashes in the media.

..and if Heat wins the championship, just look his cheap against Kobe and Jerry Buss. Shaq could have stayed with the Lakers with more money and less year but he never wanted to be under Kobe’s wing - like he’s under Wade’s who basically carried throughout the season and especially in postseason.

Re: Nba 2005/2006

Great showing by the Mavericks after a terrible first half. Their defense in the 2nd half was just killer. Dirk really got them rolling offensively with that run of like 7-8 points straight, then Terry and everyone else got in on the action, and they never looked back.

Josh Howard gets the gameball though. He is just a fantastic player. He is a very good offensive player and a great defender. Just a great all-around talent.

And, Dirk put a stamp on the MVP argument. Dude is the MVP. I love his game.

Re: Nba 2005/2006

Im not going to dig old graves about Kobe vs. Shaq and who Shaq left LA. Btw, Shaq wanted more money and Jerry Buss/Mitch had stopped negotiations with him in the middle of the season.

Lakers won 3 champtionships on Shaq's back, he was the finals MVP 3 times during that run. Would he have been able to win 3 Champtiopnships in LA w/o Kobe? No. Would Kobe have been able to win 3 Championships w/o Shaq, NO.

Shaq went to Miami and promised Miami that he will bring a championship to the city. In only his 2nd season there, Miami is a series away from their first ever NBA title, while Kobe and supporting cast of the Lakers have gone fishing early.

Re: Nba 2005/2006

No, let's dig into old graves. Shaq wanted more money and had bad work ethics. Even the guru Tex Winter never appreciated Shaq's work ethics. I'll take Tex's word over anyone...even Phil and Kobe.

Shaq did promise 10th ring for Phil but he was never up for the challenge. He spent the whole off-season down playing on his knee injury, missed as many as 20 games which resulted in Lakers out of playoff picture. This was 2003 season when Kobe had 10 consecutive 40 pts game which made the case for the Lakers to be in playoffs, eventually they ended up with 5th seed in the west.

Kobe never needed his family members (not wife and his Papa) for his defense unlike Shaq - the Big whatever. :p

Re: Nba 2005/2006

Talha... the current state of Lakers and the Heat defines the whole state of affairs... You can't deny the effect of Shaq on Lakers or Heat. Do you have any doubts that Kobe wanted Shaq out of Lakers and the management chose Kobe over Lakers (which btw was a reasonable decision from their point of view)
Kobe had a chance of winning many championships but he blew it by letting Shaq go. (even if u don't think he routed shaq out; you gotta admit that if he wanted, he could've convinced the management to keep shaq)

Anyhow.... Congrats to Heat and Mavs for outstanding playoff runs... May the best team win. It was kinda shocking to see Pistons go out like that. I really thought they would take it game 7. Shaq looks as determined as ever; poor guy didn't even celebrate too much after the biggest win of the Heat Franchise.
I don't know what Heat could do to beat the Mighty Mavs lead by Dirk.... They have got to split before they go play in their own gym, otherwise Mavs it'll be.

Re: Nba 2005/2006

Kobe blew the chance? What are you talking about? Shaq went public to be traded, he got his wish. And then thrashed back to Lakers, Kobe and L.A. fans in general.

Lakers aren’t in a position to win the championship. They are over the salary cap and won’t be under before 2007. They are in the progress of rebuilding and competing. Whereas Miami is build to win championship now however, they are as well over the salary cap.

The Laker mangement made the correct decision of chosing Kobe (27 years old) over Shaq (33 years). Shaq could have agreed on 3 year $ 90 million with a team option but he chose to be traded. EOS

Re: Nba 2005/2006

As for the playoffs, Dallas Mavericks in 6 or 7 games.

The winner of this series is: American Airlines.

Key Matchup is Jason Terry and Devin Harris vs. Payton and Jason Williams.

The rest factor is huge for Josh Howard. He could use it. Mavs are 23-0 when he scores 20 pts or more.

This is the thing about playing Dallas. Dallas has so many offensive weapons that the Heat are going to have to score in the 100's consistently to beat them.

I felt the West was going to win, because in this playoffs, it's about defense, but it's also about offense. How is Shaq going to defend the pick and roll with Devin Harris or Jason Terry? Avery will exploit this quite a bit. He's already proven worthy of Coach of the Year award. He outclassed Czar, Pops and Mike.

Posey is going to be in foul trouble all series, trying to defend Dirk. Does this mean that Shandon Anderson will have to play?

Wade is going to have to be the Finals MVP for Miami to win this series. More like he could become the 2nd player in the NBA history after Jerry West to be the MVP of the Finals on a losing team.

Re: Nba 2005/2006

Yes when it came to choosing Kobe over Shaq, Buss and Mitch made the wise decision. But look who is playing in the finals and who is watching it at home.

Anyway, Talha and Mr G you guys might enjoy this pic. The team you thought was better is now:
