Prasad is part of the offering that is made to god, after Aarti when food is offered to god, it is share from same club of sweets offered :)
Then prasad and Nazr o Niyaz got different concepts.. because Nazr o Niyaz is not followed by Pooja. Its more like as Hindu people feeding poor on the death anniversary of the dear ones.
Do you consider it a thing that is offered to a Person other than Allah? (Ghairullah)
How do you see this notion in our society that people going to mazars and offering nazr o niyaz are mushriks? Don't you think that mazars are the source of catharsis of the less privileged people? What kind of harm these people do by offering Nazr o Niaz on the name of pious people to express gratitude for their contribution to Isalm and society (if copied from subcontinent culture)?
I heard people saying 'Nazr e Allah, Niyaz e Hussain'. How does that come under shirk?
I am not really sure about the concept of Nazar Niyaz. All I know is about the khatams for the deceased, and that is basically to provide sawab to them.

wht if its general ziker or surah's to provide sawaab to the deceased ? is it a similar idea as tht of khatams ?

It is called Barsii then, every year on death anniversary of the decesed one, his/her children feed poor people.

Look I'd not go as far as issuing fatwas on people. I have been to mazars, and there are a few things with which I personally dont agree with. Another thing that most of the people who visit them are from the under privileged class like you mentioned in your post. I believe they can be made aware of some of the practices which I think go towards extremes.
you said, "the people who come on the zikr are provided with food in the end or distributed to the poor" , that means...people are invited right as a function ?

I do agree that there are some things that needs rectification. Considering some posts in R&S, I want to make it clear that sufis never taught any thing against sharia. There is a famous saying ' There is no Tareeqa without sharia' in Sufis. All what we see in Mazars is due to overall decline in social and ethical values.
^ yes you can say that people are invited, it could be barsi, chehlum or qul (three days after death) or some other event.
while the kaur is here, let me share something about qul. Some people say that its derived from phul.. In Hindus they have a ceremony phul chunena after the have burned the chita of dead.

The way that particular thread went is another thing, but I dont think any sufi propagated the things that happen on their mazars today. Having said that we cant negate their role in spread of Islam in the region. I think all of us need social awareness to curb some activities in and around mazars, and I believe thats achievable.
