when my brother passed away…everyone who was at home read quran or some other ziker etc …upto them really…not the other guests who came for condolence but just my khandan ppl who used to be with us…does that come under any of the categories you mentioned ?

Yes there is zikr when some one dies, its just different names for the same thing really.
