Well, let's see. The Vichy collaborator is still alive and there are victims still alive today. Therefore, the issue is still very much in the present. The Frenchmen who only spent the past ten years in prison, somehow escaping justice for the better part of his life is now sick. The French decide to release him, the victims would most likely not see the logic in that. I think the above statements sum it up quite sucinctly. Also, the current generations are not being held to the past, except in cases where they choose to align themselves with it.

JEWS??? , ... this message surprises me along with other posts. What makes you associate jews with the holocaust? Why couldnt of u said Africans? Gypsies? Jews only accounted for half of those killed in the holocaust. What about the other half? Dont they deserve to be remembered?
