Nazar / Evil Eye...

Does anyone think they have ever been affected by Nazar, and what r the results of being affected by it (symptoms)???

Does anyone think they have been the one who gave some one “Nazar”, intentionally or unintentionally.

Please note, do not get side tracked on the debate of whether nazar exists or not. General Islamic perspective is that “Evil Eye” DOES exist.

Re: Nazar / Evil Eye…

I have been nazarified many times  due to my haseen and khofsoorat looks :lb:

then, ammi, baaji etc. take away my nazar by reading Ayat-ul-Kursi… with red chillies etc. etc. :halo:

Re: Nazar / Evil Eye...

Usually and mostly it makes you physically sick.... Can affect in other ways also apart from causing physical sickness.

Re: Nazar / Evil Eye...

Yes, nazar happens. I have seen that happen. Best is to protect yourself, kids, etc., by reading Surah Nas and Falaq.

:).So how does one differentiate between ...............

Nazar and Weham?..................:(

Maulana Mohammad Zakariya has collected Quranic verses in his book , you can use them as an antidote to witchcraft.

This collection is popularly referred to as Manzil.

The Manzil comprises the following verses of the Quran:

• Surah Al-Fatihah (chapter 1): verses 1 to 7
• Surah Al-Bakarah (chapter 2): verses 1 to 5, 163, 255 to 257, and 284 to 286
• Surah Al-Imran (chapter 3): verses 18, 26 and 27
• Surah Al-A'araf (chapter 7): verses 54 to 56
• Surah Al-Israa (chapter 17): verses 110 and 111
• Surah Al-Muminoon (chapter 23): verses 115 to 118
• Surah Al-Saaffaat (chapter 37): verses 1 to 11
• Surah Al-Rehman (chapter 55): verses 33 to 40
• Surah Al-Hashr (chapter 59): verses 21 to 24
• Surah Al-Jinn (chapter 72): verses 1 to 4
• Surah Al-Kaafiroon (chapter 109): verses 1 to 6
• Surah Al-Ikhlas (chapter 112): verses 1 to 4
• Surah Al-Falaq (chapter 113): verses 1 to 5
• Surah Al-Naas (chapter 114): verses 1 to 6

The entire manzil is prescribed to be read one or three times in one sitting. This may be performed once or twice a day, in the latter case once in the morning and once in the evening.

Thats what we do in our family :)

Re: Nazar / Evil Eye...

I read manzil almost every night and phoonko on all of us.

Muj pe bi Gaya'banA phoonK dia karain :)

Re: Nazar / Evil Eye...

Will do bhai!

There is no concept of an 'intentional' evil eye. The one causing evil eye envies so much the object of his / her envy that even he / she him / herself does not realise that their envy turned into an evil eye for the other person. They just think of 'achievements' or success of the other individual and envy it or start thinking how 'lucky' the other individual is to have all that they dont. It comes out straight from their heart... like a "sigh". That 'sigh' turns into evil eye often even without the knowledge of the one causing it. So it can not be 'intentional'.

Different people envy for different things. Money, beauty, success, independence, a good life or just about anything the one envying does not have in his / her own life.

But how do uno that u have been nazarified. Like what happens to u to know this?

Ambassador1 says it can make u physically sick, does anyone have other things happen to them apart from this?

Yes it can make you sick or as I heard if its too bad it can kill you. My children get sick sometimes I use charon qul on them and when I see other beautiful kids I usually say MAshallah .

For my experience my and hub had a very bad accident that it nearly killed us but we are safe alhamdulillah and lots of people were not happy at our wedding.

Re: Nazar / Evil Eye...

In some cases, the one causing it can even have everything in life but they still envy another to the extent of causing him much harm. They just envy as a habit.

And yes, I agree if it is extremely bad, it can even kill.

One would never know a reason of the sickness / expiry. Meaning they might be in the best of their physical health one moment and sufferring in the next second from some odd 'bemaari' which wont go away despite all treatments. Or someone affected may die despite having the best health.

It is always best to make a routine to recite the Quranic ayahs (mentioned above by another poster) regularly because it is not possible for everyone to know the cause of sickness / problems is evil eye.

Sounds like a love marriage :faizy:

Not exactly but we do knew each other before marriage.

Re: Nazar / Evil Eye...

So....how DO you know if someone has done evil eye? Also is this "evil eye" different than kaala jadu?

Re: Nazar / Evil Eye...

I think nazar can also be due to khushi se dekhna iyswim........it don't necessarily have to be an envious glance as far as I know....I know of someone who looked like a sister of her teenaged daughter's than a mother......then someone at a gathering made a comment about her youthful appearance and since then she has been inflicted with an incurable eating disorder. She is unable to swallow food/water properly. Doctors/alims have not been able to help, and mashallah she recites Quran more than an average person. She now looks very old and frail and she is only in her mid forties! Furthermore, she is unable to trace the woman who made the comment/cast nazar, as the cure is usually to ask the person to spit in water and make wudu with that water and the affected person usually has to take ghusl with the used water......please forgive me if I have conveyed this part in the wrong order (ghusl bit) as its been a while since I read the book concerning this topic.

Kala jadu is done intentionally and someone has to take time out/make the effort/pay someone to inflict this on others......however, evil eye is inflicted without any of the above. I mean the person inflicting it might not even realise they have done this!

OK peoples, please can u tell me if the following might b an effect of nazar by someone:

Person goes to a gathering, say like a party, filled with women, most of whom have previously shown signs of insecurity around this person. E.g. they think that this person thinks they r better than them, mainly bcos person comes from a better background, and also better looking than them. Anyhow, women at party say keep glaring at said person, some making nasty comments.

So said person goes home, afternoon time, feeling very very tired, drained, but the strangest thing is, they cannot keep their eyes fully open, its like they r half closed and person doesnt have the strength to keep them open.

Could this strange half closed eyes thing be an effect of nazar by the afore mentioned ladies?
