Re: Nawaz once again shows his true colours.
Iftikhar Chaudhury upheld the law? when:-
He swore an oath on the PCO in January 2000, and got himself promoted from the BHC to the Supreme Court? i.e. he took the place of judges who refused to take the PCO oath.
Was one of the judges who validated the military coup in May 2000 on the basis of "doctrine of necessity"?
Was one of the judges who went to the Aiwan-e-Sadr in June 2001 to "persuade" President Rafiq Tarrar to resign so that Musharraf could take over the Presidency.
Was one of 5 SC judges who unanmiously dismissed all challenges to the LFO, 17th Amendment and two offices bill in 2005.
Took an oath on the PCO/LFO-amended constitution in 2005 when he was sworn as Chief Justice.
The Right Honourable Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has quite a long way to go before he achieves the outstanding record of achievment that ex-CJ Iftikhar has in "upholding the law without fear or favour"
Wow. The EX CJ should be given a medal for doing all the above and help save Pakistan. :)
