...and now compare it to a person who was earning around 30,000/month and owns one of the biggest transport companies or perhaps the major shareholder in a prime factory or bank after a couple of decades. Now thats intelligence.
Superb post, which typifies what most people in Pakistan are saying.
As for the rantings of our politcians, especially the opposition parties. The FACT is that only 2 of the 442 Federal Parliamentarians (MNA’s + Senators) have resigned their seats in protest at Bugti’s killing. Like I said the actions of politicians never matches their words, and all they do is ending up fooling a people who want the Real Deal.
It is cause Maulana Mushar" has tried to use his final weapon, the "Hudood Law", that was initiated by another military Maulana. (It is like some Mughal emperor. Now we will also have to accept "Deen-e-Mushrafi" :( if we want to live as patriot and peaceful citizens). This "Hudood" law is one of the prime reasons, most political parties want to go back to the constitution of 1973 and it has indeed made almost all political parties delay their resignations.
Even if no one resigns, this does not prove Mushraf right in killing Bugti. Almost every politician (excluding Musharaf ML) have opposed this action. How many Baloch members are there in assembliy, anyway? It is the biggest province we have and we are very keen to develop it.
There are a total of 39 parliamentarians elected to the National Assembly and Senate from Balochistan province. ONLY 2 have resigned their seats so far in protest at the killing of Bugti.
The parliment was never told about any progress on this Baloch (or Bugti issue).. It is just Musharaf who is the savior of Balochistan’s people right now. Musharaf is like a Robin-Hood to klippppers. He took Akbar Bugti’s land and distributed it in klipppppers. (…oh yes that was offered to Bugti by his tribe…)
It was one-man-show (as it was not discussed in parliment) and the issue is still not discussed in parliment. The parliment is still demanding that Musharaf bring the report (on this issue, that was finalized in Bugti’s life and had some points unsettled) and associated progress in the parliment (to be discussed).
Till that report is submitted to the parliment, (technically) parliment is not aware of what is actually going on or what actually happened. Till then even if 2 parlimentarians have resigned,…
Now Bugti’s death must be justified in some free court and every one involved must be punished , but (coming back to this resigning issue) Musharaf took charge from politicians for some obvious reasons (:)).
(almost) The same politicians are around, till now (with the exception of ML-Q).
Bughti ws not good because he sved mahjir when bb started operation against them and he saved shujahat father and he gave the vote in the favour of pakistan when all Baluch leaders were not ready to join pakistan,so he was bad.and he fought for a sindhi girl thats why he was bad .he fought for his Baluch nation rights.WHATEVER YOU PEOPLE THINK WE DON,T MIND BUT HE WAS OUR HERO AND HE IS OUR HERO AND HE WILL BE OUR HERO AND WE FOLLOW HIM.
SHAHEED BUGHTI ZINDABAD.
Balochistan continues to mourn it’s murdered Shaheed
Strike paralyses life in Balochistan
QUETTA: A shutter-down strike was observed in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on Thursday on the call of the National Party (NP) to protest against the killing of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti and the military action in Kohlu.
Police arrested Central Secretary-General NP Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo along with 150 other party workers during the protest.
Nearly all important business centres and markets of Quetta remained closed throughout the day. The centre of emporiums, i.e. Liaqat Bazaar, Prince Road, Mecongy Road, Jinnah Road, Masjid Road and Shahrah-e-Iqbal, also closed. However, the business community of Sirki Road did not pay any heed to the strike call.
According to reports from Baloch-dominated areas - Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar, Turbat, Kharan, Panjgur, Chaghai, Naushki and Gwadar - the shutter-down strike was also observed there and the business community halted their business activities. However, the business community of Pashtoon- dominated areas - Loralai, Zhob, Chaman, Pishin, Qillah Abdullah, Qillah Saifullah and Ziarat ñ paid no heed to the strike call.
Heavy contingents of police and other law- enforcement agencies had been deployed at all important and sensitive places of Quetta to maintain the law and order, as activists of the NP kept on patrolling roads to ensure that the strike call remained successful. Police arrested over 150 activists of the party on the charges of forcibly closing shops. Reports from Gwadar said the police arrested Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo and Mullah Barkat of the NP.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference in the provincial capital, NP chief Dr Abdul Haye Baloch condemned the policies of the government and blamed rulers for the unrest in Balochistan. He said it was high time the members of the assemblies came forward and tendered resignations in protest, as the assemblies had failed to protect the rights of people.
Baloch thanked the businessmen and traders who kept their businesses closed on the NPís call.
He urged that the political and nationalists parties should launch a joint struggle to get rid of the rulers, who had put the country on the verge of disaster.
we use the term shaheed rather casually these days. dont we :D
and as far as shops being closed due to strikes, vast majority f them are closed for fear of retaliation by ghundas. just like when MMA types did hartaals in Karachi, even the most anti MMA folks shuttered their shops because theydid not want MMA goons to do torr phorr in their business or attack them personally. So shops being shuttered says nothing.
^ it's well known in MQM circles that during the army operation and PPP crackdown on the MQM..many MQM activists fled the country via Balochistan..quite a few of them stayed in the homes of Baloch nationalists and sardars before they fled overseas.
