If these afghans had to live next to India instead of Pakistan, they would have hated Indians as much as they do Pakistan... Its a lot easier to get along with someone if you dont have to live in the same neighborhood...

you know why farsiwaans afganis dont liek pakistan? because pakistan supported taliban which was pashtun, and the farsiwaans suported northern alliance. Now the northern aliance and taliban never liked each other, and sicne pakistan was was suporter of the pashtun backed government, the farsiwaans satrted to disliek pakistan. Anywyas, I agree, farsiwaans should be kicked out of pakistan, but the pashtun afghans should not, as most of them are very down to earth, and rationale, and alot of them have settled succesfully.
and oh btw, PP i do not belive in this Islamic brotherhood crap, its absoult $hIT, every nation sdhould defend its best intrest and not of others just because they share islam as a religion.

Afghans have been anti Pakistan from the day of its birth… Afghans have always supported the Indians simply to put pressure on Pakistan.. Now whoevers fault it is, the Pakistanis had to do what they had to do to control their borders. And this is all the more important when you consider that Pakistan is surrounded on BOTH sides by inhospitable countries…
I dont blame Pakistan for supporting the Taliban, it had to pacify the aggression aimed towards it, but it may have handled the situation better… But Pakistan had to do something about the Afghans no doubt.

I think you're talking about the governments here Spock. Some Pashtun governments of Afghanistan have been nationalist like the Daoud Khan, pre soviet Afghan government. But Zahir Shah who ruled before them for a long time wasn't the same AFAIK. But let's distinguish here now between the PEOPLE and the GOVERNMENT, especially one that usurped power without the people's consent, like Daoud Khan. There should also be a distinguishment between real Pashtun Afghans really living in Afghanistan, and those claiming to be Pashtun on the internet, living in the West. The ones living in Afghanistan do generally have a favourable opinion of Pakistan.

True, I never said the Pakhtuns/Pashtuns were like that, its mostly the farsiwans, and I am also stating from personal experience.

NWFP supports centre’s decision on Afghans’ repatriation: Durrani

The NWFP government supports the federal government’s decision to deport Afghan refugees back to their homeland and will follow the directives of President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in this regard, said NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani on Monday. According to an official statement, the chief minister was presiding over a meeting at the Frontier House regarding the repatriation of Afghan refugees. NWFP Chief Secretary Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, States and Frontier Regions Ministry (SAFRON) Secretary Chaudhry Sajid Hussain Chatta, NWFP Home Secretary Badsha Gul Wazir, Interior Ministry Additional Secretary Altaf Hussain Agraal, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sharif Virk and Afghan Commissioner Nasir Azam werel also present in the meeting. Durrani said the NWFP government needed financial support for an amicable repatriation of the Afghan refugees so as to enable them to build their houses in Afghanistan. NWFP also needed more security forces and the Frontier Constabulary’s redeployment along tribal areas borders to improve the law and order situation, he added. The chief minister said the federal and provincial governments should cooperate to ensure safe repatriation of refugees. He said the federal government was spending a major chunk of resources on Islamabad’s security, but delaying the release of NWFP’s net hydel profit. The release of hydropower royalties would help the NWFP government launch numerous development schemes in the province.

Durrani said the province’s infrastructure had been adversely affected by the prolonged stay of Afghan refugees, and suggested that the federal government consult the Frontier government in dealing with the repatriation of Afghan refugees. The SAFRON secretary assured the NWFP government of his support on the repatriation issue.

Both agree that the Afghan refugees pose a real security threat.

Hats off to PM Shaukat Aziz in convincing NATO of Pakistan’s long held position that the Afghan’s must leave Pakistan to ensure better security in the region.
