First of all somebody said Allah said does not make it true. If you are a true person Allah speaks to you by making you feel and know what is right and what is wrong.

Second of all, notice the term "is" in your own terms? That "was" then. This is now.And you may ask what is the difference between the then and now. My answer is, Are you commuting by camel train or by car and?
So everything that was haram in the days of Prophet Muhammad(SAW)'s and Sahaba(ra)....according to you is halal today. Audhubillah

yes you should be sorry that it doesn't make sense to you. people who have stopped thinking and always try to blame everything on Quran are a sorry lot. Secondly, I did not say everything. That's why you have to use your brain and judgement to know what is appropriate. For example it was haram in those days as well as now to take kids hostage inside a mosque.

If its written clearly in the ahadith that nationalism is haram and still some people are denying it then something is surely wrong with their Iman.

Nationalism is haram in Islam.
Why restrict yourself to nationalism? Go ahead and tell us how other ideas like liberalism, secularism, democracy are also considered unislamic in Sharia Law. Makes one wonder why the Islamist don't clearly say that they are against Pakistan as a nation (and all other muslim nations) and democracy (their calls againsts dictatorship not withstanding). Why don't the Islamist state clearly that they oppose all muslim states and oppose their governments democratic or dictatorships. Only a single Islamic state in the world under one Khalifa for life(no democracy) is acceptable.

with that one statement you (Hareem) have exposed numerous assumptions that I suggest you spend some time questioning before yapping conclusions. you have assumed no corruption of god's word have taken place, you have assumed meanings of words over centuries do not mutate, you have assumed god made a mistake giving people ability to think and want to settle for mere reading and memory abilities

That tripe is what they actually believe Ajju. They just lack the balls to say it aloud. Religious dogma grounded in outdated notions of oneness and "ummah" are not going to solve a thing. People have tribes and nations, and belong to these.
I'd much rather see a secular Pakistan then an Islamist one.

but i do request you think a little bit more before supporting those people who call musharf and govt names for the mosque affair. not that musharaf and govt are any good but in this case they provided many opportnities that ghazi and morons abused
