Please don't blame Waqar for a whole team's screwups. He is not responsible for making them bat and for Inzi's form.

A captain decides the order of batting, bowling, who to play in a team, to bat 1st or 2nd etc. He has made bad decisions. He does not have leadership skills compared to Imran or Wasim. Anyone's form is his own problem.
Nasser Hussain was a really gud captain 4 England... its a shame he has resigned. I really can not believe that the ECB is doing nothing 2 reverse his decision.
Honestly mate sad 2 c u go :(
And about Waqar Younis... wel i think he shuld stay on... i dont think there is ne1 gud enuf 2 replace him, other then Wasim.

Yes he does. But he cannot hold their bats when they make stupid shots to get out. He is not Imran, but he's the best available option since Wasim is retiring.
Whole team should resign as cricket is not just a show of individuals, its more or less like a team work and requires equal efforts from everyone.
Oh wait agar yeh resign kar bhi dein tu kiya hoga aur new parchi walay select ho jaein gay.
You can tell from Nasser's attitude that he won't last that long. His mood changed suddenly after the Ashes where his team was badly hammered by the Aussies, I wouldn't be surprised if retires from test cricket as well.
I was jus wodnering if Waqar, Wasim, Saeed, Rashid retire since the WC is over, who would be the Pakistani captain? Inzamam? No Way! Youhana? The guy is too quite to be a captain. Who else? Razzaq? :( He is out of form? The future of Pakistan looks bright for Pakistan the problem is lack of experience.
If I were the board's chief...I would have forcefully retire Inzimam, A. Razzaq, Afridi and Shoaib. These guys don't deserve to be in team at all. This is not an emotional statement but rather a realistic one.
The player power should be buried forever. The young players should be given 5 chances each on a roation basis.
Yoyo could be a good captain of the youngsters. He will learn how to shout loud once given the job by board. The captain's assignement would be for six months initially, then it could be extandable depending on the performance.
I will have the following team with no expectation to win for first six months. But will also have Miandad, Aamir Sohail, Wasim and Saeed as coaches. That will cover fighting sprit, Agressive but techncially correct batting, running b/w the wickets, fielding, optimum performance under pressure (essential for new commers) and the pace attack with pakistan's own magic as an add on by noone else but legend himself.
Among these four coaches, I will send one at a time with the team on tour on a rotation basis. But they all should be training the yongsters at the same time. Work on these kids with their specific skils. They all will be groomed up like Aussies, with having all the errors in techniques corrected by these legends.
Some of the follwing will be good for one type of the game, eigther test or ODI.
Taufeeq umer
Imran Nazir/Imran Farhat
Elahi/Mohd. Wasim
Younis Khan/Faisal Iqbal
Yoyo
Kamran Akmal/Hummayon Farhat/Moin
Azhar Mahmood
Saqi/Keneria
Sami
Fazel Akbar (or hunt for 2 new pacers, believe me we will find 22 in the country if we throw parchiz in the trash bin).
On a more emotional note on Tauqeer Zia and Shoaib Akhatar's love affair:
100mph my a$$! We need bowler h......* ur big mouth has earned us humiliation, nothing else. We have spent millions on this rascal and he has always disappointed the nation whenever we needed him very badly. you both should go to hell and never utter the word CRICKET in ur lives.
Lets be forgiving and give the poor man another chance, in the upcoming sharjah series... I would say the peak of his captiancy was when he defeated the Aussies (after being one down) in their own turf...
Moin Khan is the only person who we can look to rite now....akram, rashid n saeed have gone....Moin has the experience, skill n the brains to lead pakistan....as he did before!!....besides bein captain he was for a long time vice-captain under akram as well!
i dont see anyone else capable of leadin pakistan!

it happens to every great player. every famous player who takes over the captaincy starts playing inconsistently but like I mentioned in the other thread

The exception to that rule would be the great Imran Khan. His indivisual performance actaully improved after becoming the captain.
His batting average in Test matches as captain is 52.34!!! way much higher then his overall career batting average of 37.69.
His bowling average in test matche as captain is 20.26. Still slightly better then his career bowling average of 22.81.
His batting average in oneday cricket as capatain is 34.91. Slightly better then his career average of 33.41.
His bowling average in oneday cricket is 29.01. In this case his overall average of 26.61 is better.
But the point is Imran played his best as the captain of the side. He once said he doesnt expect other players to do something that he himslef was not capable of doing. He truly led from the front. We desperatley need a captain like him. He knew how to play under presuure. He knew how to lift the team under pressure. Whoever the next captain be I think he should go consult Imran and take some points from him on how to lead a side.
Agreed Moin or Akram as a stop gap captain for one or two years with either yoyo or Razzaq as vice captain to take over when they leave. We dont have much choice apart from that. Waqar's continuation is a non starter.
Moin will be a good stopgap assuming Wasim does retire. Not only will he bring experience, he'll bring enthusiasm and fight back into the team, something many of us said we would miss once the WC got underway. David Gower wrote an article dedicated to Moin during the '99 World Cup.
It was called Moin Khan - the real Tiger of Pakistan
Despite being a very loyal Wasim fan, I think Akram should leave. Bringing back Moin will add some oomph into the side and he'll be a decent captain. But I'm sure you guys when Rashid is gone, you will miss his keeping. Rashid's gloves are so safe while Moin (at least compared to Rashid) is an extremely ordinary keeper. I prefer Humayun Farhat (the dasher) or Kamran Akmal to take over and make their mark Gilschrist style.
I personally, as painful as it will be, would like to see a brand new team devoid of petty politics. Maybe that will do away with the culture of "me, me and me". I think Inzi should be dropped too as should Younis Khan. Throw in Faisal Iqbal and Naveed Latif. For opening unless Anwar wants to hang around, bring in Imran Farhat with Taufeeq Umer and give them a long run. For bowling bring in Abdul Rauf, Najaf Shah and Umer Gul. Saqi should stay but Shoaib Malik must be included in the scheme of things after the world cup.
Wasim Akram - Please leave gracefully like Imran did.
Waqar Younis - Please retire - as painful as it is you don't have an option
Saeed Anwar - I know, you got better things on mind other than cricket
Rashid Latif - Stay around for another TWO years. You are fit and in good form. We need you as a captain.
Inzi - You are a class act. Just love watching you play. You are 33. Stick around for a couple of years. Thats only if you believe you have the hunger (for cricket, ;) )
Shoaib - dude, you're in your late 20's. Most fast bowlers usually peak around this age. Please act like a mature sportsman and couple it with your immense talent. Good luck.
YoYo, Younis, Razzler, Taufee- Please learn about the mental aspect of cricket from senior players such as Imran, Javed, Wasim, Waqar and Saeed. It doesn't hurt giving them a call and asking for feedback before and after a series. As far as I know, all the senior cricketrs still follow the game very closely.
Good luck Pakistan. You got the individual brilliance, talent and ability. All you need is some guidance and mental toughness.
