I really hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but these honourable white guys seem to get their panties in a bunch everytime the system (as set by them) ends up favouring those good for nothing pakis. (Translate: asians)
Kudos to Naseem Ashraf for not keeping his tail between his legs anymore.
To be really honest PCB has really handled this scenario like some amature morons. This whole he-is-banned---Now-he-is-not thingy was very suspicious and stupid.
fair_&_balance, be fair and balance! The thread is NOT about banning and unbanning. This is about how PCB reacted to Speed's overspeeding. Lets pay where it is due. Naseem Ashraf did the right thing by countering Speed head-on. Offence is the best defence. He seems to have learnt something from Ahmadinejad :~)
I wonder where speed (and ICC) was when Warne and others was fined by "Cricket Australia" for taking money for pitch report from bookie and were then allowed to play and to my amusements, it was not embarrassment for game of cricket becasue "Australia has dealt with the issue with their system in place" (quoted ICC's own press release)
Speed should shut the fk up ! and all praise for Naseem Ashraf. Gone were the days when "Asians" have to ban their players and "gora loog" were let off without it.
Another thing to note is that PCB's announcement about Asif/Akhtar's exclusion from the WC came hours after ICC's decision to do targeted dope testing.
^ Yes it is suspicious but i think for once this could be a sensible move especially with regards to Asif's career. PCB simply cannot afford to risk a life ban by trying to play him in the WC. Asif will see more WC's in his career but to ensure that i think it is important to keep him out of this one.
^theek hai ...maan liyaa
But the PCB is not ISI....it is a Sports Body. The general "secrecy" that the PCB seems to have maintained over the Asif/Akhtar affair by passing out misleading selective information make it seem like a rogue organization - willing to dupe the rest of the cricket world to protect the interests of its players.
Ind in case of Marketing issue with ICC on endorsements by players
SA in case of not including players wanted by Mumbai Police
As far as not going to world cup due to dopping problem,Its simple.
Drinking is not illegal, but Drinking & Driving is
so, taking drugs may not be illegal but playing after taking drugs is and if PCB knows (or players did a private test) and decided not to play, thats the best thing to do just like if a person drinks too much, his/her parents will not allow him to drive
I esp. loved the way Nasim says here ‘’ The PCB would be monitoring the ICC policy, both on random and target basis, closely during the mega event and it would not tolerate any discrimination in this connection’’ http://www.dawn.com/2007/03/02/spt3.htm

That all sums it up very nicely. We all know how it got into their bloodstream. True they sould have checked the contents of the medicine but I'm sure they would it from this point on. Again I like the way Decent has put it! ;)
one word **I N T E R N A L ** matter, and atleast they have not tried to keep it ALL under the covers UNLIKE AuS who finned Waugh and Warne in 1995 and no body ever heard of it till few years later?
Yeah but what choice do they have? What reason should they give for leaving Shoaib/Asif out? Yehi kay bhai we think theyre doped so we're not gonna let em play? That will warrant far bigger and worse consequences. PCB can give any of two main reasons (injury or dope) for not including Asif and Shoaib. Both the reasons given will attract flak from the media, but one has less damaging consequences than the other.
Perhaps PCB should've behaved like BCCI did when Tendulkar was caught doctoring the ball and banned, and BCCI threatened to boycott the next Test against England but later backtracked?
They are trying to protect their players now, BUT They were the ones who brought this issue to the attention too by first taking them outta Champion trophy squad…did u fooking give them credit for that?
When BCCI tries to protect someone who was caught doing
