skinny ties are back in but you need to see if they suit you, my hubby made the mistake of getting one and i absolutley hate it and so does he...they seem to suit skinny guys only

^ if you're clearly very overweight then yeah, they'll look bad but I wouldn't agree that they only suit skinny guys. I'm medium-ish build and wear them all the time, but again only the slim ties, not the ultra-skinny ones
as rule they should be wider than the placket of the shirt...

You know what TLK bhai, you've evidently got the chaska to try one out....le lo aik.... I say buy yourself a skinny black tie and reserve it for parties, dinners, soireés i.e any event in your personal world... Be as flamboyant as you want here, but at work, you want to be seen as 'the man' and not 'the man who's having a mid life crisis'....so stick to your normal and wide sized ties here..... You will look aik dam first class :D

Try one on - if you look like a foolio then go with your regular ones.
Middle-aged men (read as buddhay) should stick to the medium-width ties.. t!

Okay TLK is not buddha!!! Infact I have been on his case to find out what creams/ lotions he uses to maintain his youthfulness.
I use botox, goes excellent with my wide red tie ..
