Narnia

Can’t wait for it!!!

Re: Narnia

Me too. Loved the books, read them all back in the previous century when I was but a wee nipper… och aye… :rotato:

Re: Narnia

Me neither. The previews have looked really good.

I loved the series. And in my 8th grade play of “Narnia” I played a unicorn that was frozen by the witch for most of the play.

Re: Narnia

I can't either!!! It was one of the first books I read back in 6th grade!! It was absolutely fascinating!!

Re: Narnia

same here...didn't read the books but watched the cartoon ages ago.

Re: Narnia

oh..........brings back memory from 6th grade. I loved each and every book.

Re: Narnia

There is some controversy surrounding this movie, cause apparently, it’s been turned into a pro-Christian movie where the Lion is supposed to represent Jesus. Apparently, the book was like this too, although I didn’t see it like that when I read the book.

Here is the article … it has spoilers so beware if you decide to read it.

Re: Narnia

Did you read “the horse and his boy”?

lol, the princess had to have an arranged marriage to the evil vizier , they all wore arabic/arabian nights type dress and were harsh people

he was very prejudiced

Re: Narnia

Yeah C. S. Lewis was a staunch Christian.

Its ok. Most of what they believe, we believe anyway.

Re: Narnia

I didnt know they are making a movie. Cant wait. (to get hold of a camera print)

Re: Narnia

Oh please. Just wait like 2 years or so after its release and buy them in the post-thanksgiving day sale. I got harry potter - each movie - for 6 dollars. I also got the Return of the King - LOTR for 6 dollars too.

When these movies were going on, and when the hype was up, they were selling for a lot more on sale even.

Re: Narnia

Me too…watched the series (and i think some films too? i was very young)…so really want to watch it.

Re: Narnia

Even LOTR had references to rise people of the west..and showed the bad guys in ROTK as Asiatic..mind you the movie still looks good :p

Re: Narnia

It's out on Thursday! The only thing that worries me is that it looks a wee bit scary, although having said that, I only jumped once during Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire. I think its the trailers, they all look so scary.

I only remember reading the first book, although im pretty sure the BBC did a tv series of the Chronicals of Narnia too, it was shown on a Sunday I think. That was quite scary too.

Re: Narnia

you jumped during what scene?

I can’t wait for the movie … :hula:

I’m so dumb. They are advertising the movie (Narnia) timings two weeks in advance on the Famous Players website, so I thought it was already out and went to the movies to watch it and realised it was out the following week … so I watched Pride and Prejudice instead which was well worth it …

Re: Narnia

I only jumped once!!! You forgot to add that part. During Harry Potter two, I screamed not once but twice, those damn spiders! So this one wasn't so bad in comparison.

It was right at the end when Cedric was in the maze and the bushes rushed towards him, they were going to gobble him up! I quite fancied Cedric, he was schoolboyish cute. Was very disappointed with the rest of the movie though, I mean where on earth was Winky the house elf? And we didnt ever get to see Mrs Weasley! Or the Dursley's for that matter. They missed too much out.

Re: Narnia

Yes, CS Lewis wrote a lot of religious material. He was practically a theologian.

Of course I didn’t pick up on any of the Christian imagery.

All mythology has univsersal archetypes that appeal to us.

Re: Narnia

Super movie! I saw on tv.

Re: Narnia

on TV?

Re: Narnia

I can't wait. loved the cartoons and the movie looks awesome! IT reminds me of my old days =\
