I have my MIL and 2 SIL's. I think I am very blessed in that I love all three very very much, and they all treat me wonderfully. I could not be happier w/ my extended family, and they have always been sincere and loving. It goes both ways.
However, I do believe, as njgal already said, it definitely helps to not be living under the same roof. We all see each other regularly, but separate and go to our own homes at the end, and that makes all the difference. I have my way of living, and would not want to have anyone else with their ways in my household competing with my ways. It creates friction. Too much of a good thing ceases to be a good thing.

another observation: Things get even worse when you have KIDS of two families (for example two bhabhi's living under one roof). I think everyone's parenting sytles are so different. Then it's explosive....
Moral of the story - Get your own house. Even if you have to live in a jhopari :) j/k

Okay every body is different yu have some who loves there nands, and yu have some who hates them , so we are talking about stealing and the people's who loves there nand are lucky! because they don't steal there stuff... (and i'm also happy that i have no nand, because not every nand is sweet.

During the time that I was married my nands kept in touch with me and always made me feel like a sister. We could easily talk for hours on end, whenever there was a fight between me and my husband they would call him up and lecture his head off for it, and always took my side. Surprisingly, even after the divorce two of them are still very very nice to me.. they email regularly, call on holidays/birthdays etc and say that whatever happened with me and their brother is none of their business and that they still consider me a part of their family and a sister.
Not all nands are evil. I think bhabis are worse j/k

Nands are not evil..babhi's are very evil! Grrrr
But really it all depends on the person, personality and how you click with them.
Even 2 sisters under the same roof fight and stuff....but the picture gets bad when 1 has hidden agendas, insecurities n chalaki etc going on......which is case with my babhi....oh well

im a bhabi!! the only one my nands will ever have since they only have one brother.
njgal, be nice to everyone and respect them and u will earn the same in return unless ur in a family where people get jealous. when i got married, my parents gave me a lot, alhumdullilah and all my inlaws saw all the jewelry and im sure people were jealous im just glad that kind of crap doesnt run in my husbands immediate family and they all really like me. ive heard of stories of nands getting jealous of the bhabi cuz of the jahez but hopefully no one here is in that situation. the only complain they have against me is that i dont call them often.

^yeh usually they call and then they tell me to call or email often, and ive never called them and ive only been married 4 months. 2 of them live in lahore, 1 lives in maryland and the youngest one is one of my closest friend and she lives in nyc so i see her often. but i did call all my SILs on this last eid! and i asked my sister in MD to come to ny during this christmas break. i think they all like me. fingers crossed*
