Turi is actually sponge gourd and its botanical name is Luffa aegyptiaca (non ridge) and Luffa acutangula(ridge). Turi is both ridge and non ridge - in Sindh and Punjab we have non ridge turi. In India we have ridge turi. Karachi's Malir Turi is probably the best in the world. Zuccihini is a different genera and speices and its botanical name is Cucurbita pepo.

Tez pat is Indian bay leaves and is different from the bay leaves available in the UK. Indian bay leaves are called Cinnamomum tamala in botany and the other bay leaves are called Laurus nobilis.
Indian bay leaves are broad and different in taste as well while the other bay leaves are short in width and bitter in taste.

Broccoli's botanical name is Brassica oleracea italica and the botanical name of cauliflower is also Brassica oleracea. It means Broccoli is the sub-species of Cauliflower! So we wont have a hindi/urdu name for broccoli as it is not native to our part of the world.

Artichoke is a kind of sharifa? But they are from different types of plant families.
Urdu/Hindi name of asparagus is Satawar.

kela- banana
Aam- mango

aaloo- potato
Saib- apple
leemoo- lemon/lime
narangi/mosambi- tangerine/orange (not sure which one is which but I know they are both from the orange family.. lol)

gajar- carrot
Anaar- pomegranate

Kharbooza- canteloupe

tehre are so many different varieties of mirch. the green chillie that we use in indo/paki homes is simply called hari mirch.**
