with elections approaching, I wanted to see what people were thinking, and who they will vote for, or who they want to see become the next prime minister of Pakistan. and why.

too bad Pir Pagara is not running, or I would support him. atleast he is entertaining on purpose.

I would rather have a person picked at random to be the PM than BB or Nawaz, although among the two I suppose I think Nawaz is lesser evil.

so who do u want in that office and why?

well well ,... under the Musharraf not bb and neither nawaz can be pm. It can be someone else.It could be immi bhai, if he is a puppet of ISI. I think he is .. :D

What difference would it make it we name Imran khan 100,000 times on some website. Will it break this love triangle of BB, Nawaz, and Musharraf? No! At the end of the day they will fill the buses in exchange of some ghee, sugar, and ata.

And no we are not embarrassed to support IK.

Someone like of Shaukat Aziz to be a PM... a big no no for NS, BB, Chowdhary brothers, jaali Moulanas. Imran Khan is iffy, he doesn't have base wide and strong enough to be considered as PM candidate.

for genuine supporters of imran khan, more power to you.

but there are people here who are supporters of BB and Nawaz and MMA.

right now their support for their leader is masquerading as opposition to Musharraf

and they shy away from answering who they support, so I thought I will not beat around the bush and ask the question specifically. I am not really expecting people like that to post here and be honest. but their absence may speak volumes ;)

Although this will not happen, I would like to see Zobaida Jalal as the PM of Pakistan.

With the reality that, for the foreseeable future, main players in Pakistani politics will be the President, Finance Minister, Foreign Minister and the Military, Pakistan needs a PM that has no personal agenda but can continue to carryout social, welfare, and educational reforms. Zobaida Jalal meets that criteria very well.

I would want Imran Khan, but like some other people have said no power base.

I know the chaudhrys are corrupt, what bout Chaudry Pervez Elahi? a new face in the PM slot...

NO BB, NS!!! NO MMA!!

Shaukat Aziz, I dont think has a chance with all these other political rivals back in the game.

BB and Nawaz cannot technically become PM for a third time unless their parties (alone or + coalition partners) win a handsome 2/3rds majority in the next parliament which would allow them to both curtail Mush's powers as President and scrap the law barring someone from becoming PM for a third time. However as ISI are likely to rig the next election, it's unlikely that any coalition would even get such a majority in January.

If PML-N are somehow able to form the next Government with their coalition partners, Javed Hashmi, Imran Khan or Shahbaz Sharif might have a chance.

If PPP wins then guys like Aitezaz Ahsan (deserves it after his many qurbaniyan for BB and CJ Ifti, not sure if he is still in PPP) or Fakhr-e-Imam etc. might get a chance

This time he might win some seats esp. in Punjab and Balochistan (due to his support for CJ Ifti)
