Naked Musharaaf?

[right][
**ARIZONA, USA, September 29: The current fiasco between General Musharraf and the Washington Post reminds me of the story we used to read as children. In this famous children’s fairy tale a king parades the town naked, but no one has the courage to tell him the truth, because they have all been fooled into thinking that only the wise can see the special fabric the king is wearing, that is until a child points out the obvious. **

Similarly our self appointed and army backed king has now been caught lying through his nose but no one wants to point out the simple fact that he is a liar because the whole world has been fooled into thinking that he is truly an honest man, but due to the circumstances, only the wisest among us can some how see his honesty and wisdom. Despite the fact that this man in his six year tenure has taken more U-turns, than all his predecessors put together in the entire history of the country

The fact of the matter is that Musharaf’s very survival is based on nothing else but fabrications and contradictions. for instance
Although he never takes his uniform off at home, he has never been seen in it abroad.

On the one hand he is the champion of enlightened moderation, while at the same time he is constantly in bed with right wing extremists

He constantly talks of transparency and good governance while making a career of openly buying loyalties of corrupt politicians, and appointing proclaimed murderers as governors of provinces, and convicted criminals as ministers in his cabinet.

He presents himself as the ultimate Patriot for whom Pakistan comes before anything else; at the same time he is the patron in chief of the most fascist ethnic organization in the history of Pakistan, whose leader has been openly questioning the very basis for the creation of the country
He portrays himself as the most courageous soldier while backtracking and cowing in any time he is called to show any guts

He preaches the importance of having only literate people in the assemblies and government while personally picking individuals with fraudulent degrees to be ministers.

Although he claims never to lie, but he probably holds the record for being caught lying on tape, starting from his infamous promise to the whole nation and the world about taking off his uniform to his latest derogatory remarks about his own daughters, sisters and mothers, i.e. the women of Pakistan

But the more important issue at hand is his state of mind. I am sure he fully realizes that these days the interviews of all heads of states, legitimate or illegitimate, are fully recorded for obvious reasons. Thus what was he thinking when he denied making the above statement. Either he must have been totally out of his mind or actually had no re-collection of his own interview. That is a distinct possibility when one considers the fact that the alcoholic beverages he is served abroad are probably unadulterated, and thus much more potent than the one’s he consumes at home.

]Which explains all his off the cuff remarks, from his famous brag about Kashmir during his Agra Yatra, with which he single handedly doomed the entire summit, till his latest show of useless verbosity, which has completely marred our image in front of the whole world? Who can now stop others from calling us names, when our own, self declared savior is accusing our women of wanting to sell sex for visas abroad.

A brief review of the history of the great general will show that he is most prone to these bouts of verbal diarrhea when he is abroad and probably has a serum alcohol level well above legal intoxication. Thus one does not have to be a genius to know that the general is not only a cheap date, but also a pathologic liar. But the million dollar questions that need to be answered are:

Is he fit to represent our country at any level

What kind of future can we expect for the country under his dictatorship

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

MYwish.....you ar so dead.

NS, BB and MMA, Zia and ZAB are the real reasons for all this bad publicity, he has never done anything like this, he is so moderately enlightened.

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

ok enlighten me then/? let's debate.

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

 Mush is only interested in staying in power. He is just a power hungry dictator, like those before him. He is no better,no worse

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

how long he will last 2 more years ? next one will be civilian he will last 3 years another coup this cylce will continue.

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

Ah yes the great satribune again, speak volumes.... What next Indian media?

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

i love mushhy...i met mr. president last yr and he has SUCH a great persona! :)

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

A leadre has to have many things Shweetdreamz, not just great persona, it is very natural for a person to get impressed from anyone who is in power yet you have to see what kind of policies he has for the country, what steps have been taken for empoweringt he people and so on... a leader has to be a bit of a visionary as well.

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

mywish i do understand you dislike mushy and the army in general but i would like more specific examples of the policies that have hurt pakistan.
i am no expert on politics. its the same thing everytime. when nawab sharif was running all we did was PRAY that they do good for the country....when mushy came to power all we did was PRAY he would do good.

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

His removal of an “elected” government is his first sin, then he ran a show of ‘ehtesaab’ and let NS the main culprit off the country, I mean you remove one government for bad things and you do the same, whats the difference except you are doing that illegally?

Secondly, when army takes over country, all sorts of generals, brigadiers take charge of civil institutes and there they mint money and corrupt that institute further (by teaching “might is right”). The only good thing Musharraf has done is “keep the country politically stable”.

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

Shweetdreams captain1 has explained it for me, If you'd like i can provide even more sepcific examples but then the post will get very lengthy and nobody would read it.

[QUOTE]

yes i agree that him electing himself is messed up.
who is NS?

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

nawaz sharif. he was equally bad.

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

Some of the points in this article are undeniable. Such as

"Although he never takes his uniform off at home, he has never been seen in it abroad"

"He presents himself as the ultimate Patriot for whom Pakistan comes before anything else; at the same time he is the patron in chief of the most fascist ethnic organization in the history of Pakistan, whose leader has been openly questioning the very basis for the creation of the country "

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

^^

All things said and done Mushy is the best option that Pakistan presently has. What are the alternatives--- NS, BB of Zardari..
All these are leaders without a mass base and who care two hoots for the progress of Pakistan. Though Mushy might have backstabbed India ( remember Kargil), he is the best option that India too has. It is in India's interest to have a stable Pakistan(I am not joking)...

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

you folks are a joke.

If you seriously think pakistan would have been better off by now, if there were the so called 'elected' governments in power namely BB or NS, u need to wake up and smell the halwa.

ungrateful shmucks!

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

the original article is just a personal attack with no substance and stupid arguments. the very first question asked shows how immature the writer is.

He doesnt wear the uniform abroad is because he is touring as the CEO and not the chief of the army. At home, he is the chief of the army as well so he wears it. If you are doing two jobs, its plain stupid to be asking why arent u wearing the doctors gown while ur outon a business meeting with oithers for some other thing ur working on as well?

the fact that the author mentions his drinking and somehow drags this personal thing into the argument also speaks volumes regarding the authors intellect. A 5th grader could have come up with better arguments and material.

Dont expect everyone to be a perfect being. Everyone has their shortcomings. And i,d choose him anyday! who has decades of experience over some worthless corrupt zameendaar who just knows how to milk cows and money and knows nothing about administration and leadership.

Re: Naked Musharaaf?

Who is asking for the Army goonda to be replaced by some zameedar? You don’t replace trash with trash.

Mush is no better than any other power hungry leader Pak has had in the past. Were in not him being a US chamcha due to the War on ‘Terror’, he would have been gone
