didn't najam sheraz gave up singing like years back ?? i once saw his interview on t.v with his wife and he mentioned his interest about "tableegh and quranic tafseer" related stuff and said he won't do any music from now on except for hamd-us-sanaa, so what made him got back to what he was ??

Najam in concert for world peace
Recently a group of artistes joined voices to spread the message of brotherhood and serenity at the Los Angeles Convention Centre.
As in the spirit of this Olympic year, it was definitely the fusion of East and West that attracted entertainers and music business legends from across 10 nations to fly into Los Angeles: Grammy nominated jazz artiste Howard McCrary, Pop icon Li Tong Hsu, TV star Christina Applegate, international singer Prince Ali, multi-platinum selling Shahbal Shahparah of the Black Cats, The Secret motivational speaker Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith, legendary director of We are the World Tom Trbovich, producer and promoter and co-founder of Herbalife Don Grenough, among others.
From Pakistan, Najam Sheraz was invited to perform in recognition of his admirable work for peace. Najam's latest contribution in the following genre is his English track, Only Love, which is also the official song of the Beijing Olympics 2008.
The night was filled with soulful American Rhythm and Blues, Chinese Techno, Latin beats and Middle Eastern folk where cultures came together to share the same stage, setting aside politics in the name of the universal equaliser called music.
Najam started the set with Yeh Mamla Koi Aur Hai. His peace anthem, Only Love, was received with a standing ovation. Further energising the event with eastern classical/western pop fusions such as Menu Tere Naal and Chorin Na (sung as a duet, featuring singer Sue Leonard and local dancers), Najam got the crowd jumping, dancing and singing. It was surely his night and Najam rocked the house, marking the very first performance of a Pakistani singer at the LA Convention Centre.
Post-concert talking to Images from LA, Najam said, "I have travelled through both Muslim and western worlds and have witnessed the special things that each has. I urge people to know how important it is that we relate on all different levels — socially, intellectually and spiritually."
