Assalam O Alaikum
Just to remind you, it is a Salaam not the Naat. You have to stand up while reciting Salaam as a respect to our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum.

What is a Salaam. Is it Sunnah.
And Dulfiqar, in your previous threads
you talked against innovated Naats.And
now you are promoting one of them.
Salaam Alaykum,
Naat, Salaam, Nazm whatever… Brother do you have any Qur’aani Aayaat or Ahadeeth to prove that it is necessary to stand up when sending Salaam upon Muhammad Mustafa :saw: ?
Before you ask yeah I am a (born again) ‘Wahhaabi’. ![]()
Salaam Alaykum,
The Naat I was talking against were Naat which exaggerated the status of Nabi :saw: to that of Allah, ones containing polytheism, like supplicating to Nabi :saw: when only Allah is deserving of supplication as this is a type of worship, only He has the ability to answer our needs from the unseen and help us and also some Naat which attribute Allah’s Devine attributes to Nabi :saw: are also polytheism.
But this Naat or Salaam is only sending Salaam upon our Prophet :saw: and we do that in prayers too. It’s in a hadeeth that whomever sends Salaam upon him, the angels will convey our Salaam to him.
And as for reciting permissible Islamic poetry this is proven that the Sahaabah sometimes use to do it… But obviously it shouldn’t be done as a part of worship like singing hymns, like we Pakistani/Indian Muslims have done, they sing Naat at funerals, after Friday prayers etc. and put more emphasis on Naat than they do on studying and reciting Qur’aan and Ahadeeth, which is wrong.
Brother I’m no scholar or student of knowledge so verify the information you take from my posts with a trustworthy scholar, whatever good I say is from Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala and anything I say which goes against the Qur’aan and Sunnah is from me and/or Shaitaan.
Dhulfiqar,
I won’t ask about your beliefs as i don’t feel the need of it but what i’ve read of wahhabis is that they don’t like to be called wahhabis but salafis or one would like to be called salafy. I am not saying that what i read was absolutely right but i am just curious to know about this particular matter. Thanks:flower1:|

Yes brother the correct term is Salaafi that’s why I put ‘Wahhaabi’ in inverted commas.
Salaafi’s call themselves Salaafi after the Salaaf as-Saalihoon or the pious predecessors, the Salaaf as-Saalihoon were the Sahaabah (radhiallahu anhum), Taabi'een and those who followed them in righteousness, the Salaafi’s follow Islam (the Qur’aan and the Sunnah) according to the understanding of the Salaaf as-Saalihoon, because they understand Islam better than anyone else because they lived during or close to the time of the Prophet (sallallaho alayhe wassallam) and also it is reported in Ahadeeth that they are the best of the Ummah and that towards the end of time there will be 73 sects, and only the 1 which is upon the way of the Prophet (sallallaho alayhe wassallam) and his Sahaabah (radhiallahu anhum) will be the saved one…
as-Salafiyyah as some people think did not start with Imam Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhaab (may Allah have mercy on him), there have always been people upon it, and they are the true Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah. Salaafi Da'wah is calling for a return to the Qur'aan and the Sunnah, to Islam pure and free from any additions, deletions or alterations. The four Imams of fiqh were also upon this way.
Samarra,
Please ask ppl not to bring up Sectarian issues with the hope of initiating sectarianism which is against the policy of this forum Please check your pm as well.

It’s bashing other sects, which is not allowed.
Anyway I think we should be allowed to condemn the bad, like sects that preach polytheism, prostitution, cursing, sadomasochism, hypocrisy, lying etc. under the garb of piety and Islam…

Excuse me!!!
If your reply is targeting me, then
I never brought up any sectarian issue but only kindly asked him to define the reason he used wahhabi.

if you use the words to differentiate yourself from the deviants
than its ok. But if you feel proud of using the 2 words than
you are mistaken.

you know much about Quran and Sunnah. Good!
I think that’s what Dhulfiqar said in his reply, didn’t he?![]()
Assalam Aleekum
What he said is right. But he started his reply from salafi.
He should have used THE WORD SUNNAH. A word which
defines all Muslims. And than he should have told us what it
really means.
Assalam O Alaikum
Salaam is a greeting to our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum. Naat is praising of our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum like praising his Seerat.
In Quran, Allah warns Muslims to respect our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum (I do not know the exact ayat, this ayat came on the incident when some Budaian came and raised their voices) not raise their voices above him.
In Surat el Ahzab (56), Allah and His angels send Darood and Salaam to our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum and ask Muslims to do the same things.
In Suratel Tauba Ayat 128 Allah has used word Raouf and Raheem for our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum, these words belonged to Allah.
When I wrote about standing while saying salaam is came from Quranic principle of respect to our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum.
We in India/Pakistan stand up to say salaam or greeting to our father and grand father. I never saw any Muslim in my generation who sit on the floor and say Salaam or greeting to his father or grand father. It is all based on giving respect to elders, poise Muslims and this teaching is come from Quran and Sunnah.
Brother Dhulfiqar, I did not post the thread based on Wahhaabism or Sufism. We do not have time now a days to fight about Aqeeda because the current situation of Muslim Ummah.

Koran ke ayat post karoo. and tell us about which hadith talks about this
Salam. WAS this salam developed in INDO\PAK.
Than it can never be authentic. Kia hadith enough nahee ke you
need some more salaams.
Yeah, and one more sect send their Salam while standing.
I think its the deviations in Sunnah that has lead to situation
of Muslim Ummah.
