Naat-e Rasool (sallallaho alayhe wassallam)

:salam:

Brother I agree sometimes our intentions are good when doing these sort of things like Saying Salaam upon our Prophet :saw: standing up or wiping our thumbs over the eyelids on hearing his name, but it’s still an innovation and the Prophet :saw: said every innovation is in the hellfire… We should stick to his Sunnah and not make Islam more harder for ourselves, it’s perfect and simple the way he taught it us… Also when we all start injecting our cultural practices into religion which are foreign to it even if our intentions are good it breaks the Ummah up further and creates more differences….

We are suppose to sit down when we say Salaam upon our Prophet :saw: in Salaah so it can’t be wrong… e.g. in Tashahhud…

*“Atahhiyaato lillah…”

“All compliments, prayers and pure words are due to Allah. Peace be on the Prophet, and also the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be on us, and on the righteous slaves of Allah. [For when one says that, it includes every righteous slave in the heaven and the earth.] I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and messenger.”*

And also when we are reading As-Salaah 'alaa an-Nabiyy…

*“Allahuma salley Alaa Muhammad…”

”O Allah! send prayers on Muhammad, and on his Ahle Bait, and on his wives and progeny, as you sent prayers on the family of Abraham; You are indeed Worthy of Praise, Full of Glory. And send blessings on Muhammad, and his Ahle Bait, and his wives and progeny, as you sent blessings on the family of Abraham; You are indeed Worthy of Praise, Full of Glory.”*

Assalam O Alaikum

I suggest both brothers to study how Saheba Karam respect our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum. One example, when the Ayat regarding not to raise voice came, one of the sahebi has a strong voice and he stop talking to our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum for fear that his voice will be raise.

It was mentioned in Tarmazi Hadith that when you say Salaam or greeting to our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum in person ten good deeds are added to Muslim deeds.

Salaam was not created in India or Pakistan, it came from Arabia. Muslims in India/Pakistan follow the ways Sahebe Akram about their way of Adab to our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum.

The maim purpose of Salaam or greeting is the devotion, respect, love for our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum. It is a expression of respect and love. Standing while reciting Salaam is nothing but respect and love. Muslims know that Saheba Akaram always greet our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum while standing as a respect. Muslims want to follow the way of Saheba akaram. Since Muslim can not say greeting in person to our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum, they stand up and recite Salaam which is equal to saying Salaam or greeting in person and gain 10 good deeds.

Our Iman will not be complete if we do not love our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum more than ourself, our family according to the Hadith.

Brother Rehman 1, I already mentioned the ayat 56 of Surat el Ahzab regarding saying Darood & Salaam to our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum. There are lots of Hadith regarding praising our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum in a Naat & Poem form by many Saheba. Even a famous Kafir Shair who use to say bad word about our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum in Mecca in poetry but when he became Muslim, he said very good poem about our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum.

Brother Dhulfiqar, it is easy to acuse of bida to any thing know days, even Taraveeh in Ramadan is considered new thing. If you believe that what ever happening to you good or bad is from Allah, He is the one who give every thing to us. Then any thing new which promote Ibadah, jikar, helping Muslims brothers and many new things which pleases Allah then it is not the bidah. Internet is a new thing, why are we using it. But if the internet is used to promote and teach Islam, Quran, Sunnah, educating Muslims about Halal/Haram foods or food ingredients, help Muslims find Masajid in new cities, prayer time table etc. then it is not a Bidah or new thing.

We say Darood Ibrahim in prayer's Qaida, it is not Salaam. Salaam is not from culture of any country and it is nothing wrong reciting it by standing. It is immitating what Saheba Akaram use to greet our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum while standing.

Sir
Which Hadith talks about this issue.

Our Iman will not be complete if we do not love our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum more than ourself, our family according to the Hadith.

Sir
Yes. You are right. And certainly HE(SAW) will be unhappy when THE deviations of his(SAW)
Umah will be brought before him.
The only way we can show our love to him(SAW) when we atleast try to follow his Sunnah.
And its certainly not making up Salams.

There are lots of Hadith regarding praising our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum in a Naat & Poem form by many Saheba. Yes, please stick to Koran and Sunnah.

And if the source of your information are Barelwees, you are mistaken.

Sir
Why don't you point them out. I am more than willing to learn.

Assalam O Alaikum Br. Rehman1

Let us start with Quran. The following ayats refer to the Reverence for
Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum:

  1. Allah and His angles send blessings on Prophet O believers! send your blessing on him, and salute him with all respect. Sura 33, Ayat 56.

  2. Believers , do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak aloud when speaking to him as you do to one another, lest your labours should come to nothing, without your knowledge. Sura 49, Ayat 2.

Rest are:
Sura 2, Ayat 104, Sura Ayat 20-21, Sura 8, Ayat 24, Sura 24, Ayat 62-63, Sura 33, Ayat 6, 21, 53, 69, Sura 49, Ayat 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, Sura 58, Ayat 12 & 13.

A. Tarmezi Shareef mentioned about reward of 10 good deeds for each Salaam or greeting t0 our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum.
B. Both Tarmezi Shareef & Sahee Muslim mentioned about procedure of Salaam for Muslims.
C. Tarmizi Shareef mentioned ahadith of Adab and respect for elderly.

*Ansar's famous welcome song regarding our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum when he entered Medinah Shareef for the first time.

*Many Shura recited praising poetry for our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum and Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum never ask them not do it.

But Saheba Akaram, Tabe-Tabin showed their love , respect, greeting or Salaam to Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallumby in different ways after Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum's Wisal. The Salaam was one of the method of showing respect, love, greeting to our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum. Some Muslims follow them in Arab countries and India/Pakistan.

Greeting in person ( a Hadith regarding this is mentioned in Sahee Muslim that Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum asking Saheba to do it because a day will come when they will not find Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum in person), praising poetry were at the time of our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum. Then how could you find a hadith about reciting Salaam. Reciting of Salaam came after Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum's wisal .

If you demanding a hadith about salaam, then show me a Hadith about how could a Muslim calculate times of five daily prayers during winter and summer times in northern part of Alaska and Greenland where sun is almost there for 22-23 hours during summer and long nights during winter. Please show me a hadith regarding breaking the fast and starting fast during Ramadan in Alaska. Also please show me the ahadith regarding use of microphone in Salat.

Do you know there is no Hadith about how long a Muslim sister wait for her husband who went to Jihad and never showed up after months, who is going to take care of that sister with children. This was big question during days of our four Imams. Each after thorough thinking came with different periods for a Muslim sister to wait for her husband before marrying to other Muslim brother.

There are several act of Ibadah, Zikar which were never based on ahadith but Muslims still follow it. Reciting Salaam is one the act of showing affection. love and respect to our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum. No body force to follow, it is one of the personal choice for Muslim to follow the hadith "Our Iman will not be complete if we do not love our Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum more than ourself, our family".

What should be criteria for loving Allah(SWT) and Prophet Muhammad(SAW)?

003.031
YUSUFALI: Say: “If ye do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
PICKTHAL: Say, (O Muhammad, to mankind): If ye love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
SHAKIR: Say: If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, and Allah is Forgiving, MercifuL

What should be done in case of dispute between Muslims?

004.059
YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you. If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day: That is best, and most suitable for final determination.
PICKTHAL: O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the messenger and those of you who are in authority; and if ye have a dispute concerning any matter, refer it to Allah and the messenger if ye are (in truth) believers in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and more seemly in the end.
SHAKIR: O you who believe! obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority from among you; then if you quarrel about anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the last day; this is better and very good in the end.

Who is the last authority in Deen?
Allah(SWT) And Holy Prophet(SAW).
049.001
YUSUFALI: O Ye who believe! Put not yourselves forward before Allah and His Messenger; but fear Allah: for Allah is He Who hears and knows all things.
PICKTHAL: O ye who believe! Be not forward in the presence of Allah and His messenger, and keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Knower.
SHAKIR: O you who believe! be not forward in the presence of Allah and His Messenger, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; surely Allah is Hearing, Knowing.

I am also posting conclusion of Introduction of Surah AL-HUJURAT for your perusal.
In conclusion, the people have been told that the real thing is not the verbal Profession of the Faith but to believe in Allah and His messenger truly, to obey them in practical life and to exert sincerely with one’s self and wealth in the cause of Allah. True believers are only those who adopt this attitude. As for those who profess Islam merely orally without affirmation by the heart and then adopt an attitude as if they had done someone a favor by accepting Islam, may be counted among the Muslims in the world, may even be treated as Muslims in society, but they cannot be counted as believers in the sight of Allah

Reciting of Salaam came after his death.
Quoted by Rasheed Ahmed.

Answer: The correct word is Visaal. And i think its APPROPRIATE to
write SAW even after His.Try to be respectful.

You have given the answer to my question. SALAAMS are innovations in Deen done after Prophet Muhmammad(SAW).

Hence no hadith proving that he(SAW)approved of this.

This discussion is OVER.

take care

Assalam O Alaikum

Yes , I should it be Wisal not the death and should have written Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum. I was not thinking while writing at that time, Allah forgive my mistakes because I always write Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum.

Again you do not understand that there are certain things which were never mentioned in the ahadith and ulema used related things found in Quran & ahadith to provide the answers.

Yes, Salaam is new thing and was not there at the time of Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu alaihi wasalallum so as many things which I mentioned in my last post. There are so many good things which pleases Allah and which do not have basis in ahadith. Taraveh is also good bidah, why do not you ask millions of Muslims not to pray more than three days in Ramadan in Masajid. There is no requirements to use ahadith to do special Zikar or Ibadah.

Our current discusion is also among new things and there is no hadith for you to communicate me on this topic, on this forum through internet. But so many discusions on this forum helping many Muslims, so it is a good thing. There are certain things which you can not make others to agree. I do not agree with your requirement for having a hadith to do it any good thing nor you agree for reciting salaam. I just mentioned the difference between Salaam and Naat and requirement for reciting Salaaam. I am not imposing it to everybody.
