According to the schedule issued by Chief Election Commissioner Justice (r) Hamid Ali Mirza, candidates could file nomination papers with the returning officer from September 30 to October 3. The nomination papers would be inspected by the ROs between October 5-7. The last date for filing appeals against the returning officers decisions about rejecting or accepting the nomination papers is October 12 while the last date for deciding appeals by the tribunal is October 16. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is October 17, while the revised list of candidates would be published on October 18 and polling held on November 7. The Election Commission has clarified that it was necessary for the candidates of NA-55 Rawalpindi-VI, NA-123 Lahore-VI and PP-82 Jhang-X, who had already submitted their nomination papers, to file fresh nomination forms or make deposits under Section 13 of the Representation of the People Act, 1976.
