haha! kamran khan just mocked shiekh rashid after he sobbed and cried about rigging, with a whole bunch of facts...
its simple... if you compare this election to the javed hashmi one, all the ppp votes went to sheeda and pml[n] retained its votebank, infact it improved considerably...
a few things about this election
i) pml[n] is strong in this area (despite what these dimwit zardari/mushy lovers were claiming
ii) sheeda talli is history
iii) pml[n] posted an honest, down to earth person who was relatively UNKNOWN Many ppl criticized nawaz for not giving a known person the ticket but this guy got the job done... Hes promised alot of money for pindi from the punjab govt, hope he delivers
iv) imran khan made a HUGE blunder by giving the ticket to a badmaash fella (who nawaz had rejected for ticket earlier). PTI and JI failed big time, but atleast they accepted the results unlike mr talli
v) sheeda talli's political caraeer is over... he tried bashing mushy, apologized for lal masjid, and then even tried to get ppp's support which he did. Even the sympathy factor by getting some ppl didnt work for him. Even his Q league support didnt get him much.
vi) people still have not forgiven sheeda for lal masjid and his support for mushy.

Actually this is the problem with Imran Khan, after 12 years he still don't know how to select a candidate, who on earth can dare to nominate candidate rejected by other party... He should stop living in the fantasy world should smell the coffee, he talks about goonism yet nominate well-known ghunda for elections.. what was he thinking
Other important thing for Imran Khan is, he need to align with some main stream parties, if he thinks that he can rock the boat by himself by his existing strategy then that ain't happening for next 20 years atleast...
JI is not a party who normally win election, they are good in showing street power...
The good thing is PML(N) learned their lesson from Mansehra and was cautious for nominating a candidate for this election...
PPP as usual was totally unclear and confused, i think somebody told Zardari that this election exercise has no immediate cash benefits.....:)

This election has also proved that people will not tolerate taliban apologists like Imran. message is that if you support terrorists we will not vote for you. Hope he realises his folly, but doubt it. he has remained on the fringe of politics and will remain there forever. another Asghar khan.

seriously, knowing him personally for so long and being from his city does curtail somewhat of sympathy from him BUT hes taken too many u-turns and is the biggest lota in Pakistan’s politics.
Oh and that donkey Musharraf a few days was urging people to vote for him too! hahah I am sure Shiekh Rashid must have smacked his head against his bald toupee forehead then!

A few observations, I am surprised at the scale of the PML-N win..especially with the JI in the run and the right vote split..it goes to show that the northern punjab vote is PML-N and anti pml now.
Hamid Mirs hatchet job against Sheikh was uncalled for ..
The PML-N will likely sweep Punjab next election but i seriously doubt it's ability to break out of the province especially after manshera.

Here is my analysis about this election.
it was blown out of proportion by media just because sheeda was there and nawaz was forced to appear due to the fear of sheeda's return.
None of the candidates talked about local issues. sheeda kept on talking about stopping drone attacks, showing missile muscles to India to get water resolved, get out of IMF's control and other national issues. even if he got elected he couldn't have done anything about it.
sheeda and everyone else tried to play with people's emotions instead of focusing on issues.
less said about imran and his candidate is better. imran kept on renting about politicians and their properties and kids outside and American drones. all that to get people's emotions on his side while those things have nothing to do with the elections at hand. his selection of the candidate was flawed as well.
5 imran's candidate tried to cash on imran's popularity instead of showcasing his own abilities. his said he would win because people like imran. he just wasted his and peoples time, he cant speak in front of people about issues to save his life.
JI targeted women and religious people but were doomed to fail.
Sheeda knew the outcome when the turnout at liyaqat bagh was not much. since then he started blaming pmln of rigging and claming that all the crowd nawaz got was not local.
PPP played a double game and back stabbed PMLN again. they indirectly asked their supporters to vote against Shakeel. had PPP not dont proxy voting, sheeda would have had his jamanat japt this time again.
media was totally against sheeda, they favored PMLN.
Election code of conduct was not followed properly. even after the campaign was over they kept appearing on TV and *****ing about other contenders. Every one did mud slinging on everyone else. no one talked about real issues of the area.
Sheeda flip flops more than a fish out of water.
all in all, This election was not about sheeda or anybody else. it was between PML and PPP. had PMLN lost this one they would have lost a lot of leverage that they are using to pressurize central govt. it would have proved that PMLN is not as popular as everybody thought. even if PMLN won by a little margin it would have meant PPP's victory and another lifeline for Sheeda talli. Nawaz has reassured that he is the next PM in waiting.
honestly talli should retire and confine himself in lal haveli and do what the does best. cigars, alcohol and ... you know what...

RAWALPINDI: Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid accused rival Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) of ‘pre-planned’ rigging for by-election in National Assembly constituency NA-55 held here on Wednesday.
However, he said that he would not take up the rigging incidents before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Addressing a news conference, AML chief Rashid said that local administration was used for the rigging purpose.
“We don’t have personal differences with anyone. We have political differences,” he said.
He alleged that all his party’s wagons were captured by Punjab Police while some of his weak supporters were coerced to change their loyalties.
Rashid further said that all politicians should take a lesion from the by-election in NA-55.
