Let this be the main thread for this bi-election.
One of the hottest constituency right now. This seat was vacated by Nabeel Gabol (former PPPian) who joned MQM to win this election but later resigned from MQM as well.
There are three main contestants so far:
- MQM → Kanwar Naweed
- PTI → Imran Ismael
- JI → Rashid Naseem
Kanwar Nawed has been a veteran in MQM, considered very loyal to Altaf hussain. Originally from hyderabad and had been its mayor.
There are strong news that PTI and JI will ultimately decide to have a joint elections to make sure they dont cut each other votes.
Either way, my predictions is that MQM will win this bi-election very convincingly.

I think MQM will win, more than anything other parties should be free to contest polls from the city without intimidation.

NA-246...think of this as war for country's capital (country being Karachi). If this falls, rest of the Karachi will falls sooner or later. Stakes are high. JI being stubborn, are not withdrawing their candidate for PTI.
Personally, irrespective of who SHOULD and SHOULD NOT WIN, I think in the end MQM will pull it off easily. Don't underestimate the support for MQM in Karachi. YES they might not get 20k..30k..40k bogus votes and margin of victory will not be in 100s of thousands but even today, in fair elections, they will win majority of seats in Karachi and Hyderabad (might lose 2-4 seats).
Main thing is everyone should be free to run and campaign without any fear.
As for PTI, they are just making toofan in chai ki pialee perhaps to divert attention from their return to NA. They always want an issue (or create one) to get media attention.

I just dont understand when we all know how much MQM is strong in this area that they have been literally governing since day1 when Dr. Imran Farooq won for the first time in 88 elections. why they seem so agitated and insecure from PTI's campaign??!! Most of PTI election rallies attendees are not even from this area so how can they effect the result??!!

Over the years, MQM voting bank is decreasing it is not like they will not win, but it will be like kantay ka moqabla. What Decent posted in his comment.
Second thing: MQM walon main bardasht ki kami hia.. though they improved their way of politics a lot, but still need improvement in regard of political opponent.
How come MQM become national party while they don’t bear an opponent on their home grounds …

Over the years, MQM voting bank is decreasing it is not like they will not win, but it will be like kantay ka moqabla. What Decent posted in his comment.
