ones i’ve heard about pakistan are that all pakistani hindus are a dying breed and that pakistani food is the same as indian food which is not really true is it?
ones about indians that i’ve heard are that all are vegetarian and all are hindu
which ones haven’t you heard, the ones about pakistan or about indians that i put up?
well i’ve never been to pakistan so excuuuuuuse me
oh another one about pakistanis is that all are ultra conservative, i think i was most surprised to see girls wearing jeans in pakistan at a concert in pakistan. i dont’ know why i figured most wore salwar kameez or niqaab, apologies
they seem to be doing just fine and are pretty patriotic pakistanis though, one pak hindu wrote that he would piss all over one very famous indian cricketer so they are a bit extreme with their patriotism just like a couple indian muslims i’ve come across. it might or might not be true.
some of the minorities of both countries probably feel like they always have to prove their love
most are punjabi restaurants and some of the ones that aren’t so good pile on the oil and there are other good ones that actually are quite good.
then there are south indian restaurants that are healthy comparatively and have a totally different cuisine and the dishes.
i’ve only tried the shaan pakistani dishes, i wish i could try ones that are made by professional chefs
the only restaurant i know of that is totally awesome tasting is an indo-pak restaurant owned by indians and pakistanis and the food is heavenly, a joint effort always tastes better
I have very close people living in Karachi and elsewhere in Pakistan and I have been to Pakistan. It’s a reality that Hindu numbers are going down from time to time.
As far as the statement `they seem to be doing fine statement’,I do not refute indeed my known people are in to wealthy flourishing garment business but I have seen the opposite poles also. But it’s quite natural…
Myth about Pakistan, we are supposedly a nation of extremists with narrow minded views and have no sense of cultural identity.... in fact Pakistan is as diverse as any other country probably more diverse than most when you consider there are over 200 ethnic groups/tribes/peoples....
Myth about India is that it was always somehow one nation, India until the British arrived was always a country of many sections and was never united, even under Chandragupta the most celebrated native conqueror India was only about 60-70% of What it is today...
Myth about both sides is that we are all outside of our home country either doctors or drivers restaurant owners etc... we are just as varied in our work as any other race.

.
same with india, every state has it's own ethnic group/subculture/every religion in the world so i always get confused what anybody means when they talk about an indian look. the indian look varies going from one corner of india to the other. with close to 22 national languages and 844 different dialects
i didn't know india has close to 700 tribes and there are approximately 450 ethno-linguistic people / language groups but over 2,300 ethnic people groups when religion and cultural factors are considered.
Indeed India is much greater not just in terms of size than Pakistan… it is a sad fact that as India grows albeit slowly we Pakistani’s have shrunk… our hearts may soon be all that is left of great Pakistan but not if we can help it.
Nothing would please me more than see the two countries at peace and not so servient to the West.

Pakistani Hindu dying breed may be similar to "Pakistani Muslims dying breed" who are leaving country or who want to leave for better opportunities, but since Muslims are in such huge number so it is not considered as 'dying breed' :D ... the point is lack of economic growth is forcing people to find alternatives.
as for question regarding cuisine, there various types of cuisines in Pakistan and various types in India its hard to say which is better though I'd tend to say Pakistani is better not just because I'm from Pakistan but also because in most Indian foods I found use of 'heeng' which I don't like, otherwise some south Indian foods are good.

i always had an indian neighbor so i have tried the home cooked food from 5-6 different Indian ladies. And i dont remmeber liking any of theirs food.
like if theres dahi bara the dahi is almot like pani.I adore food generally but indian food never won my heart/or my taste buds.and theres vinegar or lemon in everything.but if i like something,it has to be bihari bengan<3.nomnomnom.
hey it’s just not for you then.
if it was homecooked food, is it a particular type of ethnic indian food, like gujarati, punjabi, malayalli, tamilian, mumbaiite or marathi, naga, bengali, Hyderabadi, sindhi, coorgi, gosh there are so many different subcultures it’s hard to tell which one you tried.
i’ve tried hyderabadi biriyani by an indian muslim auntie and then i tried the pakistani recipe, maybe it is personal taste but for some reason the indian muslim hyderbadi auntie’s was mouth wateringly tasty but she’s an awesome cook so it also depended on that probably.
but i really like the white karahi dish, have to be honest though, i haven’t tasted many pakistani dishes, will look for pakistani restaurants where i live.
i’m guessing in the restaurant that i tried that had both indian and pakistani cooks, it’s the pakistani side that made it taste far far superior yes i think that’s what it is

heeeng isn't used in north indian dishes, it's i think used mostly in vegetarian or south indian dishes. the dishes are totally different going from state to state so you'd have tell us which particular dish it was that had heeng in it. if the indian members here could correct me if i'm wrong it would be great.
Hyderabadi biryani, khatti daal, bagharay baingan, mirch ka saalan, tala huwa gosht, etc. Hyderabadi food rocks!
Myths: Mehndis are a Hindu rasam.
Ive been to Indian weddings, and Ive rarely seen a Mehndi party. Ive always seen Sangeet and sometimes a casual get together at someone's house for the bride to put on mehndi.
