Aww that sounds painful. Hope the kid feels better soon. Have you tried hydrocortisone? Probably not a good idea to use everyday but maybe use it 2-3 times for the spots to go away?

as is evident from the name, hydro-cortisone is a steroid creme…not really recommended unless absolutely required…and I would let the doctor make that call.
