check to see if you can get an OTC anti-itch cream/ointment for his face.....the scabbing over doesn't sound too good and you want to prevent any scarring.
I would recommend something but all the ones that I am familiar with have steroids and that's not good for anyone......the pharmacist may be better able to assist as well as your paediatrician/family physician.

Aww that sounds painful. Hope the kid feels better soon. Have you tried hydrocortisone? Probably not a good idea to use everyday but maybe use it 2-3 times for the spots to go away?

Id just take himbk and not give anything withlut doc's advice... Its baby skin... Anything can go wrong.

as is evident from the name, hydro-cortisone is a steroid creme.....not really recommended unless absolutely required.....and I would let the doctor make that call.

So i took him back to his paed today and she immediately admitted she was wrong in thinking it was a virus- its a hardcore eczema flare-up! she prescribed 1% steroid hydrocortisone cream and said it should hopefully clear up soon insha'Allah!
he had eczema briefly as an infant but it looked nothing like this bout- she said it changes as they grow.
so stressful.

Too bad you had to wait this long for it to be figured out.
Good thing is that since now you know,you can do something about it.
My daughter had some eczema on her face too when she was about a year old...her pediatrician also told to use OTC hydrocortisone cream.I used to mix it with a lil Aquaphor and used it.It cleared pretty quickly.
