Re: My wedding 'stuff'
I didnt wear one either, but I do really like them -- wish i had. Some of them look too big, but I've always loved this:
Re: My wedding 'stuff'
Sahar U never sent me ur pics :( ..
Re: My wedding 'stuff'
I really like the last photo. It just looks so classy in comparison to the other ones ... maybe cause it is slightly different in style and design.
Re: My wedding 'stuff'
sadzz..i keep missing ur pics....please post them for a little bit longer....
here's a pic of my bhabhi...she has one of those matha patis thing too...but hers also can convert into a necklace as well...which is good....the only time i wore my jhummar again was on my bro's wedding....otherwise its just a waste...might as well get al fake one...
Re: My wedding 'stuff'
I am jealous!
Re: My wedding 'stuff'
Wow..Mashallah Shinz...your sets are gorgeous. You'll be a stunning bride..Mashallah :)
Re: My wedding ‘stuff’
And its nothing personal i am just jealous of everyone getting married ![]()
And your first set is beautiful! The smallers are okay :-/
Re: My wedding 'stuff'
MashAllah, Shinoo, your sets are so pretty! I love the colors on the wedding set--so rich and deep. What stones did they use for it? And I love your plans for your matha patti! Very good idea. One woman I know had a very clever convertible set. She could take the necklace and make two necklaces out of it, and her tikka and jhoomar could be combined to make another necklace--it was so interesting.
As far as what is in? Everything goes, honestly. Everyone has their own special taste and touch, and you can hardly ever look at a bride and complain. But a lot is influenced by Indian films. Which is why in the past 5 years, we are seeing so many matha pattis, and double and triple chain matha pattis.
When I got married five years ago, my valima was in Pakistan, and the trend was to forgo the tikka and only wear a jhoomar--it went well with side parted hair. Jhoomars are making a comeback, and actually have gained popularity in India (movies like the new Taj Mahal, and the old Mughal-e-Azam, and a rumor that they're remaking Umrao Jan are making them trendy again). I saw a show on GEO and they were talking to a jeweler who said that jhoomars are still in very high demand.
Nothing is wrong with wearing only a tikka, since that look is classic and clean. Can't go wrong with that.
Re: My wedding 'stuff'
im not sure about the walima dress as it was from my inlaws.. but the wedding one was 1lakh... thats pretty standard if u go to a designer... but i know u can get them for cheaper... :) so dont fret toooo much
Sadzz, who designed your outfit?
Re: My wedding ‘stuff’
I missed them… ![]()
Re: My wedding 'stuff'
Oh wow so many replies!
Don't have much time right now.. will reply later!
My in-laws are coming over soon so I'll take out the camera and take pics of my clothes then (we'll be showing them all)
Re: My wedding 'stuff'
i got mine designed by Lajwanti... and the walima outfit was by Zardozi...
the kaam done on the baraat dress was amazing.. i mean, i didnt design it myself so i'll compliment it hehehe... na, to be honest, ive never seen such designing.. loved ALL their outfits...i wanted every one of their designs..
yanzala, i dont have a full pic of the walima dress scanned.. sorries dude... once i get it, i'll show u once i have it scanned
Re: My wedding 'stuff'
sadziiii how come you didn't email me the barat day pics.
please do it right now!
Also, who did your make up in Lahore?
EDIT: my nikkah outfit was from Zardozi too and they have an awesome collection there and also their price range is reasonable!
Re: My wedding 'stuff'
SAdzz..no prob. i will wait
is lajwanti also in karachi??? cuz u said u were in lahore, so i wonder if they have any branch in karachi.
someone also said that lajwanti's costumer service is not really nice, so how was ur experience with them???
shinoo, can't wait to see ur cloths. really!
Re: My wedding ‘stuff’
Gemini, sorry dude.. its just my sister edited the pics and my face looks rather deformed.. hence am too embarrassed to show my baraat day pics :bummer:
I got my make up done from Madheeha and Ather Shehzad… they’re both like really good.. i went to ather shehzar on the walima and shehzad said madeeha was really good as well… so yeah check them out :k:
yanzala, i think they do have a branch in karachi.. not sure but u can check out their website.. i think its www.lajwanti.com but it doesnt have much on there..
ummm okies.. the clothes are like totally amazing…and their designing u cant get anywhere else.. not even HSY is as good as them.. (my mum checked out both places) but but but.. they do give u a bit of a hard time with delivery… my bhabhi’s wedding was a week before mine.. and we had to get everything done in 10 days.. they did make a beautiful dress for her in 8 days.. but didnt deliver it till like 7.30 on the day! she was sitting at madeeha’s waiting  and my bro didnt get his sherwani till then either… imagine the stress! my bro still hasnt forgiven them… hehe.. otherwise, for design and quality (females clothes) i recommend them to everyone… designing for guys is really good too…but the quality aint that special… but they make em look hot ![]()
Re: My wedding 'stuff'
hmmm...lajwanti sounds really good, i wonder why i never heard of that place, GS is the first place i heard that name.
the fact that i will be able to get my dress done in few weeks is awesome.
but i think 1 lakh is something that i won't be able to afford cuz my mum think is that amount of money for a dress is a complete waste, she would want me buy a jewelry set which cost a lot cuz she said it worth it, but not the wedding dress, but now i think i will try to have at least one dress by a nice and well known designer. and less costly dress for my nikah and valima or vise versa.
PS.can't wait to see a full pic of ur wedding dress sadzz.
Re: My wedding ‘stuff’
^ yeah.. i know it seems like a waste.. hehe.. i know at madeeha’s most of the brides were pretty simple and here i was walking around like a christmas tree.. the coolest thing is people know where ur dress is from… like the parlour girls and photographers were like… “ur a lajwanti bride haina?” hehe… i know that sounds retarded but both me and my bhabhi were like “yeap!” ![]()
check out Medhi as well though, i hear their stuff is good too… and yeah Zardosi has good stuff… also check out Ali’s (not sure if they are in karachi)…they’ve got really good kaam..
Re: My wedding ‘stuff’
