As some of you know, I’m getting married in April (insh’Allah) and I did most of my shopping from Lahore.
I’m going to post pictures in this thread of my jewelery, clothes, assecories etc and maybe they’ll be of some use to future dulhan’s (to get some idea’s what’s available these days and also I could provide info on where I purchased them from if anyone is interested)
So far I only took pics of my gold jewelery but I will keep on adding more pics when I have time.
This one is for my Barat day. It’s a necklace, earrings, a ‘maatha patti’ (on the right) and a ring. I designed the maatha patti myself I’ll be wearing it with a mehroon lehnga.
(I’m sorry for the quality I had to resize) )
^Yeah I definitely will!! My mum came back from Pakistan today and I had forgotten how many clothes I have!! They’re sooooo gorgeous and just the way I like. Not too heavy or too much ‘kaam waalay’. I wan’t to be able to wear them anywhere. I’m soo glad I went my way and chose everything mysself.I had only seen the unstiched kappray (how I bought them) ,they looks soo different now that they’re actually stiched and all done!
nice !!!
i just saw it and i loved it. i love the idea of matha pati thingy ur cousin also wore it on her valima, i really like it and i was also thinking about getting something like that.
since u said we can ask anything cuz u just been to pakistan and u knwo most of the trends, i want to ask if jhoomar (the big thing that goes on a side of ur head) is still in?? i really liked it and but i heard that it's not very in anymore ppl only wear tika not jhoomar. so just wondering if that's true or not.
I like the 2nd two sets. Very pretty and delicate! The beads sets are quite common in Pak these days. My cousins who got married over xmass wore blue and pink beaded jewelry for their weddings.
I also like the pink/blue lehnga on your cousin :Pretty:
i want to wear that matha patti thing that picture way and in this same style like the pic, how would it look??? any idea, likes or dislike??
please give me an advice and i want this for valima.
thanks
Awww. Very nice shinoo. I like the wedding one and the last one better. I lurve matha patti's but they r such a complete waste :( If I hit the jackpot before i get married i'll surely buy one :D
Yanzala jhoomrs will probably never go out. They r very much in. The traditional ones and those new ones which sorta cover one side of ur head and are attached to the teeka.
^ Thank you yanzala. If you ask me, anything goes in Pakistan. It just depends on what YOU like. I've seen dulhans biiig jhoomarz and also ones with a simple small teeka. I deliberately didn't go for a jhoomar as I just liked the maatha patti better :-)
Rukhsar, true beads are very common. I've seen a LOT of sets in Pakistan while I was shopping. Beads just attracted me more, gives a fuller look but at the same time you don't feel you've been loaded with sona! THe smaller two sets were chosen by my mum :-)
Femme, tha't's exactly why I designed the maatha patti myself! as you can see the actual 'patti' is made of beads, when I'm tired of it I'll dump the beads on the sides and chage the ones on the teeka to another color and tadaa a whole 'new' set :D
i am glad about the jhoomar thanks FF i kinda don't like the style of those new once don't know why, maybe cuz they look too much, it might look good with a simpler dress.
and shinoo, i loved jhoomar and i was really sad that i won't be able to wear it, i was thinking that how sad it is that all the good jewelry is out before my time hehe. but it's good that i can wear anything as long as i want to.
and i can't wait to see ur wedding dress. and i agree with suroor INSHALLAH u will make a really cute bride.
i love how they matched the set of your cousin's valima to her outfit...the blue and maroon....looks very nice.
they also have half matha patti's in pakistan....instead of beads covering both sides of ur forehead, it only covers half....so from far away, it can kind of look like a jhumar. those look nice too
but all ur sets aer nice....cant wait to see the clothes
