My sister is getting married later this year, and everyone in our family likes a very traditional look, hence it was either Bunto Kazmi or Dr. Haroon, both of whom are ridiculously expensive. We didn't even try with Bunto because I've heard she doesn't take orders unless there's a year before the wedding. Tabassum Mughal's work is also traditional, but we didn't see her styles made with traditional farshi ghararas and kameez, she had the kind of shirts like Sana Safinaz makes, except with traditional-looking gold work.
Anyway, in regards to price, Dr. Haroon told us 7 lakh for a heavy bridal jora with farshi gharara, not 5 lakh as we'd been expecting. He told us he'd do it for 6 lakh our family has ordered from him before.
The same kind of jora was around 2.5 - 3 lakh six years ago... Can't believe the prices have more than doubled!

^ I would give Samia Ahmed a try…some of her bridals recently have a very Bunto/Dr Haroon vibe about them, plus I’m sure she doesn’t charge as much…see what you think?

Wish I knew about Samia Ahmed earlier… I love the bridals and the formal peshwas! What are her prices like?
One of the pictures reminds of the valima outfit my aunt designed for her daughter-in-law. The shirt design was EXACTLY the same… the only differences included colors; she had magenta/deep fuchsia instead of purple, and pistachio green instead of ferozi/turquoise. Wish I could post pictures of the bridal outfit my aunt designed, but I don’t have enough posts yet. It’s beautiful! She is VERY creative with colors, and makes great outfits. She has started making bridals for the past few years too. I don’t know how her price will compare with Samia Ahmed’s.

Wow, and what might bunto be charging nowadays?
Don't have a first-hand experience, since we didn't even contact her this time. But I've seen a couple of her REALLY heavy joras with kaam all over the kameez, and I was told that was 10 lakh. It made me wonder though, her 5 lakh bridals must be quite simple.
My mother-in-law went to see her 6 years ago to inquire about a bridal for me, but she didn't really get good service. She found out about Dr. Haroon consequently, and ended up going to him for my dress. When it was time for my sister-in-law's wedding last year, MIL went straight to Dr.Haroon, and got 2 joras made, both of which were gorgeous.
God, this is unbelievable, i mean 10 lacs is hell of an amount. But i guess , to each his own.
Samia Ahmad does make amazing bridals. Also , i like Minahel and Mehrene, their work is quite exquisite as well.

Just to let you know guys if you are looking for a bridal dress and dont want to spend too much on the wedding dress and want quality material do visit SILKO behind cooperative market. I get my wedding dress to be done in 30 k and its replica of some designer.
