The decor is superb! In case you are looking for more creativity for a siblings wedding...I'd focus around the pool. You can even create a dance floor in the middle of the pool (with very sturdy boards) and decoarte the sides of the pool with floating candles/diyas and rose petals. It would be like dancing onw ater :-))) p.s. don't forget to invite me ;-)
Re: My Wedding Decor
mashallah everythings just perfect!
Re: My Wedding Decor
You weding decor is Gorgeous and Grand!! the food looked too beautiful to eat---cant wait to see more pixx
first of all.. congratulations..
the decor is awesome..
do share ur n ur hubby pics :)
I posted my wedding pics earlier probably about 2 weeks ago. You might have missed them.
Everything is Masha Allah beautiful. I love the mehndi stage the most! Its awesome! I remember Avari Towers in Karachi use dto have some type of agreement with Ramada. I guess yours is a different hotel. Where is your dad's hotel located?
I have no idea about Avari's arrangements with anyone. The hotel is located at star gate, less than 5 min away from the airport, near CAA headquarters, it just opened a year ago.
Out of the three, i liked the mehndi stage the most as well. The people started working on it around 1 pm and it wasn't done till 8 p.m.!!
Sumo, I have the solution for u. Next time u know theres a good wedding booked at your dads hotel, just walk to the food area and help yourself. make up for everything u missed out on. No one will notice, and even if they did, who would they complain to?
lol good idea!! but whenever im at the hotel i have the chefs make me wahtever i want. the thing i love most about the hotel is that i think they have much better tasting food than the other hotels, specially at weddings. i think our chefs are really good at what they do. and i live in ny so i have no idea when ill be going back :( but ur right, haha who would they complain to?

Naqsa,
We had thought about all the ideas you gave. My first thought was having glass over the pool area and I know it can be done, but we decided against it specially since there would be practiced dances and then over 100 people dancing on it. We then thought about having floating candles and diyas on the water, we even bought samples to test it out, but either the floating candles in pakistan sucked and would be finished within 10 minutes, the wind was too harsh and would blow out the flame, or the wind would be too strong and push all the candles/diyas to some side of the pool. then one of my aunts brought up the idea of putting rose petals in the water and me and my dad shut it down as it would make the pool filthy and difficult to clean and pool water becomes very expensive so u dont wanna ruin it. then someone came up with the idea of having baloons and i ignored it. i really dont even know who came up with the idea of having this decor in the pool, the pic i posted was when everything was still being set up, so there were many more arrangements like that in the pool.
i wont forget to invite u, except that any of my two siblings will not be getting married for atleast the next 5 yrs. :)

Hey Aisha!
Thanks so much. I did do a lot of planning I just got lucky with the venue and decor. However, there were a lot of things I had planned out and didn't have time to implement. Also, I think planning is half the fun in weddings, it's very exciting. We're blessed if we have great marriages. :)
Food was amazing, but not only cuz of him but all the chefs and staff there, they made the wedding astounding! Chef Zakir makes oh so good food! I remember once I was having brunch at the hotel on a Sunday and he specially made some thai fried rice and thai chicken dish for my family. It was Amazing! Him and his wife are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met!
Re: My Wedding Decor

Re: My Wedding Decor
great work.
by any chance we can see ur dresses for all threee days?
Re: My Wedding Decor
wow.
Re: My Wedding Decor
Thanks all! but there was soooooo much more that could have been done specially since i had so many resources at my disposal. i remember that i didnt want the tradiation yellow and green dupattas for men on the mehndi so my dad sent this one guy from the hotel to find the kind of dupattas i wanted. in the end he came back with a yellow and green and i told him that it was exactly waht i didnt want. so he ended up making 3-4 trips to find the dupattas and by this time we had 2 days till the mehndi so ofcourse we ended up just getting those dupattas and at the same time im sure the guy cursed me out in his head.
i had also planned out and so had my aunt, to decorate all the mehndi thalis with A LOT of fresh flowers. and ofcourse it was very easy for us to do it as we have a supplier deliver fresh flowers everyday to the hotel and ofcourse we ran out of time and ended up using the usual paki mehndi stuff.
i had also thought of centerpieces and that didnt work out... again no time to implement (talk to anyone about it).
Sehar, thats funny cuz I thought i was the only one with that nickname and i used to hate it specially as a kid but now i guess im just used to it but rarely anyone calls me by it now.
lois lane, i posted my wedding pics a couple of weeks ago. my mayon dress was ferozi, mehndi dress was mustard, wedding dress was purple and red, valima dress was sky blue and peach but i dont have pics yet of the valima. The decorators wanted pieces of the fabric of my dresses so they can coordinate all the decor with it, thats why the ice sculptures on the day of the mehndi were mustard. The ice sculptures on the day of the wedding were blue and red and were so hideous that i didnt post the pics. they were just huge blocks of colored ice, 1 each for my initial and my husbands. it was pretty gross, as soon as i walked in i wanted to tell someone to throw them away.
is it just me or does it really feel like u plan for something for sooooo long and so much effort and energy is put in weddings by sooo many people and its just over in like a single moment!?
