ISLAMABAD - Dr Fozia, sister of Dr Afia, has said that Dr Afia is innocent but for a long time, she had been facing inhuman treatment from the US authorities at bloody Bagram torture cell.

She was addressing a press conference here on Thursday. She said, “My sister is so weak, that her weight is only 30 kg. It shows the inhuman brutality of a so-called ‘Civilised’ nation”.

Dr Fozia said, “Central Investigative Agency (CIA) of US could find a single clue against my sister but she is deprived of basic human rights, as she is not allowed to get the medicines”. She added, “US prides itself for its judicial system, I pray she may get a fair trial.

*“My appeal is to Pakistani people, my brothers and sisters that your sister has been abducted, tortured and humiliated for continuous five years” adding that her three children, including a six months baby were snatched from her, she deplored. She said that unfortunately her sister was facing trial chargers, which were totally false. She especially pointed out the Wednesday’s picture published in different newspapers. She said, “It is a picture of a severely dehydrated sick person almost as if on the deathbed.
*
Any one with any feelings, their hearts would go out for the agony this woman has endured”, she added.Senator Iqbal Haider, President of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and Amna Masood Janjua, a renowned human rights activist, who is fighting for the missing persons, were also present on the occasion.

She said that our Attorney in the USA Ms Ealine Whitfield recently told her that Afia was in a fragile condition, in severe pain.

“I have no guns, nothing, just tears and cries but I am confident that 16 crore people of Pakistan are hearing me and they would never leave their sister and children alone.

Re: ‘My Sister is Innocent’

She is not innocent , she is a terrorist of Al Qaeda. You dont know even after doctrarte from MIT in Nueroscience and being the head of Department at John Hopkins, having 75 awards from Harvard and other world known universities, still she takes hijab and practice islamic laws of shariah. This shows that she is a terrorist involved in chemical weapons and massive mass destruction means . She is treated very well for 5 years in US Bagram Jail of Afghanistan. Dont you know US is the champion of civil rights, human rights, rule of law and Constitutional values in the world. The courts of US give justice to everyone thats why for 5 years, the courts have given justice to her. Justice is the hall mark of thier courts and country, so plz. dont blame US for all hardships she faced as she is a terrorist by born, so she has to face all that .

You couldn't be more pathetic.

Enough of the fairy tales. Now please enlighten us with your golden views on "Abu Ghareeb prison" and "Guantanamo bey"

Re: ‘My Sister is Innocent’

I think kaka was being sarcastic?

^^ Yes Kaka was being sarcastic.

However this issue should not be a source of petty laughter. We know that she disappeared along with her children.

We know that she visited Islamabad during the 5 years of disappearance under head to tow full niqab. When asked to show her face, she was quoted as saying that her face has been disfigured by the CIA.

We know that her children are all grown up during these 5 years. A picture of her oldest son in blue shalwar qameez and her ownself is floating around the web.

We know that her face has not been disfigured or changed in any way.

We know that under her attorney's directions, she refuses to talk about the whereabouts of her children.

It looks like she is not telling the whole truth. So let's wait until her case goes through the court systems. It is not good to fight her case in the newspapers. If she is innocent, she can always sue the US government. However if she is guilty, we'll know about that too.

Re: ‘My Sister is Innocent’

It would be a massive blow if after such backing by muslim world, such a highly educated person turns out to have fallen for the religious brainwash.

But a part of feels really sad, really really sad, to think if she is innocent, the kind of mistreatment she went through.

Her sister is a well accomplished person too, seems to be in the board of some social organizations - but it gives me pause that at least he ones I saw her name in are all muslim organizations.

Sad troublesome and ........sad

What's taking so long toi resolve one way or other?

Her court appearance is scheduled for September 3rd - I believe the judge delayed the original date after deciding she needed medical attention.

Re: ‘My Sister is Innocent’

The Urdu press had published news yesterday that US had admitted to holding his one son in custody since 2003 and that a video of her son's interrogation is available on youtube. However, I was not able to find anthing from any credible sources and a search on youtube also was unsuccessful. Was it a case of Urdu press making up news to feed their readers?

Did you watch that video? I watched one video which supposedly is of "Afia" soon after capturing with a "bag" full of "forbidden" stuff etc. The 13-year old kid with her is reported to be from some other area so possibly it wasn't her son (if it really was Dr Afia).

Re: ‘My Sister is Innocent’

this whole thing is a sham

there is no history of Pakistani women committing acts of terrorism especially the ones as educated as her

I could not find anything on you tube, hence my question. If you did, can you post it here or PM me?

Doesn't mean it is impossible. Remember she is accused of being a facilitator only. Why does her family accuse her first husband of being a part of Zionist conspiracy against her? Why is she keeping quite about her sons and time since 2003, even after having lawyer and consular access. Why does she and her lawyer refuse to answers these questions from reporters?

One's level of education and wealth does not stop one from being a terrorist. OBL is rich and Zawahiri is a doctor...

*Wow, so you think suing US government is that easy, especially if you are charged with Terrorism??? Helloo… Open up your eyes, ears and mind. How many people could have done that after going through terrrorism case? Do you think US govt will let you do that so easily?

Please have a look at the freefahad.com and watch the video in it. But I think you’ll still say that why doesnt he go and sue US govt. Hena? :smack:

Re: ‘My Sister is Innocent’

Hi, the person telling the details of her arrest is speaking Pashto...and he says her name is Halima, she is 25 years, d/o Mohammad Yousaf, resident of Multan but currently living in Thana, speaking Urdu-English-Arabic, has had 12 years of school, etc.

The spokesperson further tells that she is accompied by an innocent helpless little boy of 12 years of age who belongs to Turbat but lives in Multan.

Even if we assume she is dr. afia and has concealed her real name what about her age and reported education-level?

The spokesperson says the authorities were informed about her nationality and intentions in Ghazni by a woman. The spokesperson tells she had maps of Ghazni whereas US authorities say she had maps of New Ypork.

This is a video of her and her son’s from last month’s arrest in Ghazni. The Urdu press reported a video of her son’s interrogation from 2003! I guess they imbelished things a bit? What about the reported admittance of US authorities of her custody since 2003? Can you or anyone point me to a report other than Jang, Daily Express and Pak tribune?

Re: ‘My Sister is Innocent’

Yar AAju her story is very mysterious. Whay was she so secretly held for in Bagram or if she was not held in Bagram where was she?

Was she involved in some big plot e.g. Saudi Govt-AlQaueda connections? Why such mystery sorrounds her story?

Moreover, a correction in the translation above. The spokesman says “she is resident of Multan but lives in Larkana”.

Re: ‘My Sister is Innocent’

According to this article from BBC(Urdu) soon after her “arrest/abduction” in 2003 both Pakistani and US agencies had admitted of the even but then denied later on.

Nope. Read the article again, it does not say that US or Pakistani agencies ever admitted arresting her in 2003. It states that since her disappearance in 2003,…

A case of reading what one what one wants to read even if it is not written there?
