Just like you think entertainment of Politician is representation of Indian public sentiment, Indian public feels same for Pakistan's populations when it comes to Politics, I am sure Saeed and Lal topi will win election if they ever fought. I never said that politician get vote for bashing Pakistan all I said that India votes according to their respective castes. Secondly I wrote as above, Musharraf got 98% in your version of democracy. No one in the world should care for PM of Pakistan but for COAS of Pakistan.

and that is why I am hopeless and losing my hopes as negativity about each other is eventually creeping into common people on both sides of the border. while people like me are ridiculed,abused, insulted and trashed on both sides of the border, i still promote normal and friendly pak-india relationship at public level but my hopes are diminishing fast!
public is masoom but being emotionalized by indian media and almost all the political parties on the indian side and by non-state, right wing media and religious stakeholders on pakistan side.
I am all for peace between the two sides just like you TLK, but it is quite apparent that India needs to play the role of a bigger brother here and take initiatives and quite frankly it is doing the exact opposite thing. Yes, we do go a little gung ho with celebrating our '65 victory but then again it does not help that the PM of India goes to Bangladesh and boasts about the 71 debacle.

I think it does matter, no matter what day and age. They are bigger than us in pretty much every regards, population, influence, military strength, acreage, you name it... Fair point about why we do not take the initiative in terms of our attitude but then again we aren't the ones provoking them every day and threatening them on every single opportunity we get. We are merely 'celebrating' our resolve and spirit of a war 50 years ago and that does not equate to being an aggressor nor are we suggesting we will carry our surgical strikes in their country (that is coming from them). All we said in response to their every day threats is that we are ready to face them.
The behaviour of politicians , ppl and army is going in opposite directions. During n around zia time we were more aggressive in speeches . India bashing sell more in pakistan those days.
In India things were different that time n pak bashing was not that high. Things turn around n now ppl in pakistan r busy in our own problems. No of ppl in pk believing keh barhkain marne se we will not grow tall thats why u see such thread on a paki forum. It was not possible during those days n ppl like the op n Others supporting such debate were being tackled by state actors strongly.
On the other side now things become like Wat used to be here earlier. Pak bashing is selling at higher rate in India now. Though still not reached to the level that used to be in pakistan in yesteryears.
I believe the change on both sides is because of continuity in democracy in pakistan and free media while strengthening of extreme right wing in India.
