My Indian buddy wants to visit Pakistan

Hi,
My Indian friend wants to visit Pakistan for like 2 weeks or so. Right now he’s in the US but holds the Indian passport. How does he obtain the tourist visa to Pakistan as it seems the procedure is different for Indian nationals when compared to other foreigners. Does he need to have a local contact in Pakistan(which could be mine in Lhr)?

I think since he's residing in the US right now he must contact the Pakistan Embassy and they'll guide him and inform about the procedures required and process his application. I think having a local contact or invitation or valid reason to visit apart from plain tourism helps the case. It's that way in both countries.

i'm not indian..but french:D, and pakistan embassy required details of pakistan contact and exact reason for stay to grant me tourist visa...must be harder for an indian...ask your local consulate:)

Thanks HZ bhai.. any idea how long does it take for a tourist visa to get processed for an Indian? It took way longer for me and my dadajaan back in 1998 when we went to the Indian punjab to visit his ancestral village.. plus there were some restrictions on the movement.

I bet it'll be hell harder! I guess our relationship with Indians is very emotional- one end we hate 'em to the core thanks to our history and origin and on the other end they're the tourists we'll love to have in Pak as they're the ones who'll most comfortable there.

Report on Lahore in an Indian magazine? weird.. So now you’re muslim due to your marriage to a Pakistani and you were Catholic before? Where do you come from in France? Lyon? Paris? Nice? If you are French why do you have only 3 months to stay in France?

Report on Lahore in an Indian magazine? weird.. So now you're muslim due to your marriage to a Pakistani and you were Catholic before? Where do you come from in France? Lyon? Paris? Nice? If you are French why do you have only 3 months to stay in France?

i converted to islam when i was 10 years old mashallah se (family is catholic)
I visited india and pakistan last summer
i met my beloved (pakistani of course) recently..not married yet
I'm born and bred near paris
i'll go on holidays in pak in three months...and will move to london thereafter, to get a job and work over there before marriage

Just out of curiosity- which one of the countries you visited you found better during ur visit- India or Pakistan?

the parts of india i saw were richer in archeological beauties…but the part of pakistan i saw were far more clean:D

overall nothing is better than my beloved pashtoonistan:blush:

what parts of India and Pakistan did you see? Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Pune and Lahore, Pindi, Karachi? So you went to NWFP in Pakistan?

I visited New Dehli, Agra, the states of rajastan and himachal pradesh.

in pak i went to NWFP (Peshawar and some villages around) + Karachi

He does not have to go to Pakistan to experience authentic muslim culture. Go to Lucknow, go to Hyderabad. New Delhi is full of great muslim architecture. Why go somewhere where they don't want you?

because lots of indians are amazed at the similar pakistani panjab…and re discovering lahore is a great experiance to them…apparently that indian journalist had so much fun there:halo:
